Curious once the pool closes to see if the title picks are close to what the Yahoo breakdown currently is.

As of right now with 277 entrants:

Submitted my bracket, but forgot to add payment method in comments.

Amazon is giving me all sorts of grief on the instant verification of my bank account, so I've had to do the "verify deposits" thing. Those deposits still haven't shown up. This, along with the fact that Amazon asked for way, way, WAYYYY more information than any other financial institution has ever requested in order to set up and verify an account, is royally pissing me off.

Hence, I've paid via PayPal.

UMASS? Seriously?

Funny enough, that's from a friend of mine (UMass alum).  He filled out two brackets.  Guessing the UMass one is his illegitimate bracket.

Dan, is there any way to get a copy of your bracket after you submit it?  I went to the pool reports thing, and then pulled down the list of names, but I can't find mine anywhere.  I know I submitted my bracket, so this has me a-scared.

I don't think you can see it until it locks when the games start...

Drew, I can see everyone else's picks.  If you click on the tab that says "pool reports" and then "Player picks", you'll get a drop down menu on the left side, where you can drop down and pick a person's name and get their picks.  My name is missing though.

Never mind, found mine.  It had my last name swapped with my first.  Sweet.

Yeah, just noticed what you were talking about. Glad you found it.

A quick & dirty count using the "find text" command in Chrome. Looks like I got all 299 entries. 18 different winners were picked. The top 5 teams account for 228 entries (76.3% of all brackets), and the top 8 teams comprise 269 of them (90%).

Through the 8 afternoon games, there are 28 entries with perfect records, and 22 more with 7 wins.

I'm sure there are many more than 22 people with 7 wins through the afternoon games, but only 22 people have seven wins AND nailed both upsets (Dayton and Harvard).

I think you might have misunderstood Dog's post.  He's saying that there are 22 that have 7 wins, in addition to the 28 with perfect brackets, which makes a total of 50 people with 7 wins.  I have 6 wins, which I think probably makes up the majority, although this is the one pool out of 5 that I did brackets for, that I had Ohio state going to the sweet sixteen.  Oh well, long way to go.

Actually Delta's right, and I completely misread the standings. There were 103 with exactly 7 wins, but just 22 who maxed out their points with the upsets. That was in addition to the 28 perfect brackets.

Is the upset points a new wrinkle this year? Don't remember it from last year. Not that it would have changed my picks.

I am pretty sure it has been there for as long as I have been donating money which is at least 3 or 4 years.

Yesterday is why I convince myself not to get too riled up about a bracket. Five misses and four of them were coin flips lost in OT or a buzzerbeater. Nothing to be done.

Two perfect 16-0 brackets left: This one and this one.

It looks like both of those would require a bunch of surprises to look good in the end. One has MSU in the finals and the other has OK State, who is hardly a lock to even make it to round 2 (the real round 2).

It's been that way from the beginning. I have thought about getting rid of it but most say thay like them so I keep them.

My bracket is shot so I might as well jump off a building.

Asking for my brother who is doing decent in this (I on the other hand am doing the exact opposite).  In his bracket he has Dayton (an #11 seed) beating a #14 (Western Michigan).  Since Syracuse beat Western Michigan, he is wondering will he get the bonus points for having Dayton beat Syracuse even though he didn't pick them to advance?

No he wont. You must pick an upset to get the bonus points.
