Here
It would be funny if LBJ signs a 1-year deal, Napier sucks, and then complains about the Heat not surrounding him with talent again.

I hope Lebron signs elsewhere and Napier is a bust. Just for the passive aggressive quotes from Riley,

to trade down 2 spots in the mid 20s? What did you expect.

Not really the point. Heat were semi-desperate. Hold their feet to the fire. ;) Actually a fan of this... Despite going to Heat, them losing more picks makes it harder for them to move players like Cole and Chalmers.

The players, particularly the superstars, have so much power and influence on roster moves in the NBA it's crazy.

Especially considering LeBron just influenced a team that no longer employs him.

I missed it... What did Simmons have to say?

Said he was sick of teams helping the Heat, and that they'd been doing it for 4 years. "enough already."

Me too.  Adding someone like Grant or McDaniel - two guys who don't need the ball, can hit a jumper and can play defense - would have helped the team much more than Napier.

So Kyle Anderson will probably get drafted in the next 10 picks or so.
He got one of the best comparisons of the draft process from deanondraft.

"He’s pretty much LeBron James if LeBron was doughy and required to move in slow motion at all times."

Worst place for him. He doesn't get away from the Greensboro crew.

That's what I worry about too but hopefully the greatest ever can keep him on the right path.

So they drafted a guy who couldn't get minutes in the Fucking Brazilian league?

Here's a highlight video from one game.  One of the blocks is ridiculous.  And I like that there is nary a dunk in it. 7'7" wingspan is pretty impressive.

Do you really want to second-guess Ujiri right now?

The Heat did not consult with LeBron James on the Shabazz Napier pick, sources said. Though his thoughts were known.
The Heat (and Lebron) have been aggressively targeting Napier since UConn won the National Championship. Pat Riley worked out Napier right after the NC and was so impressed he told Napier not to work out for an other team so that he could fall to the Heat. Ray Allen also was working the situation to get Shabazz to the Heat. All of this was well known. If the Cletics really wanted to break up the Heat they should have taken Randle and Shabazz instead.

Raps made a promise to Bruno at 37, he skipped all workouts, only 4 teams have ever had a single scout see him play and he's 3 or 4 years away. Yet they thought he wouldn't last to 37?

ESPN apparently can't keep their Serbs straight.

The more remarkable thing is that Toronto is sending out a scouting profile that compares their draftee to Kevin Durant and calls him, "For sure, the most promising Brazilian player".

Between Jalen's "certain teams don't attract free agents", and Lavine's "fuck me", I imagine HRB sitting somewhere, smiling.
I chuckled and shook my head. Some people really believe there is a level playing field.....I choose to observe the obvious. ;)

I really want to snag a pick in the second. We need players.

Agreed, any targets in mind?  It seems like there's some decent PGs- Russ Smith, Dinwiddie or Micic- if indeed Rondo is on his way out.  There doesn't appear to be much in terms of defensive bigs.  Klimenko, maybe.

I like Jarnell Stokes, pf from TN. Great rebounder. Stats like him. Plays hard.

Guys like Phil Pressey and Ish Smith spent all of last season collecting paychecks......Miami could move Cole or Chalmers for a Top-55 protected pick to take them off their hands with a simple phone call.

Yeah, no shit. It doesn't change the fact that the "we didn't consult LeBron" stuff is a line of semantic bullcrap. If LeBron had sung the praises of a different PG, they wouldn't have drafted Shabazz.
