Lee would make sense...and that brings Carr to the Raiders assuming reports they have him as their #1 QB are true

I was saying same earlier today. This position has gone from being overvalued to being undervalued virtually overnight. You can sneak in and grab an immediate impact player outside of Round 1 which is rare.

Polian actually said something very cogent about this earlier. Basically, his point was that the position has not become undervalued, but given the prevalence of the spread option, unless you can find someone with a literally complete skillset of which there are basically none, you have to pay three different guys to play it.

which is why a guy like Hyde who is good in all 3 dimensions -- every down back, short yardage back, passing game (no idea if he can block, though) -- seems to me so valuable and why I'd love him for the Pats.

Blount was terrific last year, but so limited.

Shocked they passed on a WR

This draft is loaded at WR, though. Off the top of my head: Lee, Adams, Latimer, Moncrief, Bryant, Robinson, Matthews, Richardson, Landry all are ranked in the late 1-early 3 range. There's a lot of options left on the board. The G market drops off pretty quickly after Bitonio.

Fair enough--if he's an every down back that's incredibly value, especially in terms of disguising offenses. I just thought Polian had a really interesting point in the idea that the position isn't undervalued, it's that players are valued only based on the limited portion of the role they can play.

I'd love the fits the Pats might give opponents with an all-purpose back.

It's funny - some franchises have such a stink that you are certain that it's an indication that a player will suck.

Carr to Oakland, Johnny Football to Cleveland, etc

David Carr's advice to his brother explains everything about his shitty career.

Oh, yeah...wasn't disagreeing with you or with Polian, fully agree. Just that the same point accentuates how great an addition a guy like Hyde would be, especially for the Pats -- having to sub so much last year meant they couldn't do hurry-up in order to take advantage of the other team's sub patterns as much as in previous years.

This is a really good point. Was there a single person who wasn't sold on Manziel in the country who didn't see him get drafted and shout, "Ha! I knew it!!"

That's why I love Talliferro, the kid from Coastal Carolina.  He's basically a RB in a FB's body.  Great in the screen game and in pass pro.  I can see schemes with him and Vereen on the field at the same time and being able to run anything from an I formation to no backs in the backfield.

Falcon fans everywhere collectively gasp as their draft pick announces to the country that his hard work is over.

What was it that David Carr said?

They said he told his brother that when playing he should be Bruce Wayne as long as he can and only when you have to put on the cape and become Batman. Or something to that effect.

Lotta trades going on right now, honestly a little hard to follow. Bummer to see a bunch of interesting guys go so quickly, but there was really no hope of any of those guys falling to the end of the round anyways.

Herman Moore?  That guy was a beast

He was basically an oversized slot WR, but I remember him being a beast in my mid-90's fantasy football leagues.
