Not here
Teixeira just left the ballgame for the Yanks, I wasn't watching to see what happened and there is no word yet on whether he'll have to be put down.

Tonight will be Vin Scully's 65th broadcast of a Dodgers home opener, dating back to 1950 at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn.

The A’s announced that the start of the game will be delayed due to inclement weather. They didn’t announce when that inclement weather occurred. It rained pregame for  while and it was pretty steady. But they had the tarp on the field. No, the issues stems from not tarping the field over night after last night’s late-ending game.  The area got a fair amount of rain after midnight. The field was saturated this morning. On field batting practice had to be canceled. Because it rain pregame, they weren’t able to get the field dry and then get it ready. Hence the delay.

It's nothing to do with their stadium, it's because they didn't tarp the field last night when one look at weather.com would have told them that rain was imminently sweeping across the East Bay.

Might have wanted to avoid the Mariners while they were hot and perhaps send a message they need to get out of that place.

The Marlins are in First Place. 4-1. Not for long, I'm sure, but hey.

Hickey must be an awesome pitching coach.  I know Odorizzi's a starter but it seems like every year Hickey miraculously revitalizes some reliever's career.
Heath Bell is this year's reclamation project.

Hoover is a terrible pitcher.

“@matthewpouliot: Something about J.J. Hoover and grand slams. He gave up three last year, too. No one else in bigs, starter or reliever, gave up more than 2.”

Of course, they still have more wins than anyone else, so a loss would have been bearable, I guess.

Yeah that Tigers finish was Ugly with a capital U. Coke is for all intents and purposes a last resort now. 162-0 is still on.

Tigers offense deciding (wrongly) that with Verlander on the mound they can take the day off. 162-0 is being threatened.

Darvish and Cobb both throw 7 shutout innings. Peralta comes in for the 8th and gives up a 2 run bomb and Rangers take 2-0 lead into 9th

Jameson Taillon won't be the Pirates' mid-season jolt after all. He's headed for Tommy John surgery, will hopefully be back next season.

Omar Infante just hit in the chin by a Heath Bell pitch. He immediately got up and then once the trainers got there he just sort fell into their arms and walked off the field.

Kenley Jansen just threw a 99 MPH cutter to Miguel Cabrera. That's just unbelievably filthy and amazing and unhittable.

In a 6 pitch AB Kenley Jansen threw 98 or 99 MPH with every pitch. Some registered as cutters and some as 4 seamers, but supposedly all he really throws is a fastball with natural cut like Mariano Rivera did. How a pitch can cut and be that fast I just can't even fathom.

VMart did a great job to hit one of Jansen's mid to high 90s cutting fastballs on a line for a game-tying single to CF. Great piece of hitting.

Yeah, Jansen pretty much just goes up there and throws cutters. His velocity has been up this year so far (in a tiny sample), but more in the 94-97 range. At 98-99, that's unfair.

If you walk Chone Figgins at this point, you deserve to lose. And Chamberlain did in fact get hung with a loss.

Classic Joba. Was filthy in the ninth and then inexplicably walks Figgins in the 10th.

“@BenBadler: Billy Hamilton just scored from third on a pop up hit 15 feet back of the infield dirt. And there was no question he'd get it.”

Odorizzi was pitching well, then Maddon let him try to work through some trouble in the bottom of the fifth and now it's 7-1 KC
