Especially when he hires a new assistant away from OSU:

Hoping Duke fills the vacancy with Christian Laettner, who has expressed an interest in the past. He would shake things up for Duke and not be afraid to get into K for some of the things they've been doing poorly lately. My guess is Scheyer becomes a full-time assistant this season after being on the bench last year as a special assistant.

MYRTLE BEACH!!!!
Gonna miss those lengthy "Associate Head Coach" halftime interviews next year. They always had that, they don't need me back there feel about them.

That would be a much better hire than Scheyer.  Williams has been critical of Duke as an ESPN analyst and would probably provide a different view as a guy who has been out of the program much longer and also has more experience dealing with coaches and players who do things differently.  With Capel now the big man coach, it makes sense to bring in someone to coach the guards.  Wojo was doing it this season, Nate James was working more with the big guys.

McAdoo is entering the NBA Draft

Leaving school might be the better term there.  Not sure he gets drafted at this point, maybe a late 2nd-round pick.  Had a chance to be a lottery pick early in his career, just never made the jump to being an elite post player.  At this point, he would have been better off coming back and trying to show he can improve his jumper and consistency as a senior.   UNC might benefit from this though, at times they were better with Johnson on the court and McAdoo on the bench this year.

James Michael was a heck of an on-court leader.  When he hustled the team always responded.  He was a good defender too.

Brice Johnson might score well, but he's going to have to put in the work to become much better defensively and on the boards.  He'll have to work to stop picking up cheap fouls too, although James Michael did that too.  It also allows Isiah Hicks to move to the 4, so he won't have to play out of position any more.  We'll see if he improves with that change.

He needs to improve defensively (a great deal) but his offensive game is really well-rounded as he demonstrated against North Carolina in Durham.

He made the right call leaving Duke if he's serious about improving his defense

Thanks. Duke's "away only" schedule next year is brutal, and then UNC's "away only" schedule the following year is similarly brutal.

I don't think so either...I think if he was ever going to go it would have been 10 years ago.  But I think they'll ask him.

Maybe if Doc leaves and the NBA takes over the Clippers. Silver is a Duke grad.

The Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament will move to a Tuesday through Saturday format beginning with the 62nd annual event in 2015.

The new tournament schedule, mutually agreed upon by the ACC and ESPN, will feature Friday semifinal games at 7 and 9 p.m. ET, followed by the championship game on Saturday evening at 8:30 p.m. All 14 tournament games will continue to be televised nationally by ESPN and the ACC Network.

I like it. Like the old Big East. Have always hated the Sunday championship game right before the brackets come out. Never seemed like enough time for the committee.
