Andy Brickley's potty mouth
I've played a ton since September. I played #4 at Pinehurst in October, followed by a trip to Hilton Head and various rounds and my club over the last few weeks.

I've been playing like shit, but whatever, I'm playing golf in November - can't complain.

Yeah, I've played a bunch too.  I'm hyper erratic right now.  82 one day.  72 the next.  Still searching for the elusive perfect driver too.  Picked up a Nike Covert for $89 at Mission Hills in Palm Desert and swapped out the shaft for the X-flex.  1 round so far and by the end it was a tremendous asset.  Supposed to be 60 and sunny here on Sunday so I'll be giving it another whirl.

Also heading to Vegas for a golf trip this year.  Playing Bali Hai, Desert Pines and Royal Links.  I don't know a thing about any of them.

The Slums of Shaolin
I ended my year pretty strong.  Got down to an 8.  Picked up the clubs for the first time in a month this past weekend (55 degrees) and shot 80.  Thinking about taking a few days in February and going to tampa for some golf...then on my honeymoon I'm playing one of the courses at Pebble.

Headed to Phoenix in January and bringing the sticks.

Recommendations?

Staying at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio if that helps.

Well, yeah.  But I won't know for sure if I can play Pebble until a day out because I'm not spending $1,000 to stay in their lodge.  As a single I'm pretty sure I'll get on, but if not Spyglass Hill is a nice alternative.

Royal Links is worth the $$$  Bali Hai is decent, but way overpriced.  Desert Pines is a piece of crap.  See if you can get on Royal a second time.

No one has played since September 13th?  Wussies.

Heading to Vegas 11/30-12/4.  Already have Southern Highlands lined up.  Anywhere else?  (besides the Cascata's and Shadow Creek's of the world...)
Angel park-Mountain Course is a decent track and a good deal.  TPC Vegas is right near there as well.

Awesome info.  I'll try to get it changed though the whole trip is in jeopardy since we don't have enough takers.  It was supposed to be an alternative to our annual Bandon Dunes trip but as it turns out people are more willing to spend the money to go someplace special like Bandon than to Vegas for just some golf.

the sticks are in the basement, well unless there is a 60 degree sunny day in next cpl weeks,  Index finished right where I started 19, but saw some progress and maybe if I get some game inprovement irons, you never know

did play last friday in the annual Beef Stew Open,  930 shotgun, 28 degrees and wind off the ocean/river. its a scramble I sunk a 50' bomb  for a bird on our 4th hole of the day, which turned into 3 in a row, we ended up winning @ -8 a great score considering if you tried to hit a wedge into the greens early the ball would bounce about 20' in the air..walked away, well got as far as the bar with an extra Cnote in my pocket,

nice way to end the season

One thing I don't think I mentioned, I experimented with the TaylorMade Lethal ball towards the end of the year and liked what I saw.  I'm not sure what I like better yet, the Hex Black Tour or the Lethal, but those are my balls of choice going into next season.  The Hex Black Tour feels a little softer and checks up easier, whereas the Lethal goes a little bit further for me.

FYI, the Lethals are on sale for $32.79 at rockbottomgolf today only for Cyber Monday.  This past spring I got the Hex Black Tours there for <$20/dz for logo overruns in Ammo Box packaging.

Edit:  Looks like the Hex Black Tours can be had for 23.99/dz and Chrome for 25.59/dz.

Thanks for the heads up!

Every year my country club has an everything must go 50% off sale at the proshop starting 12/22 and ending 12/24.  Between that and me taking advantage of RBG's sale on the Tours last year I still have 2 dozen of them.  The Lethal deal is enticing though.

I couldn't resist.  Got 4 dozen Black and 4 dozen Chrome.  I've never played the Chrome before so hopefully they're good.  I've had to change strategies this year.  For the past 9 years I've switched to used B grade balls in the winter in Oregon because the ground just swallows them whole so often.  Moving back to Denver means the opposite.  The ground is concrete (had 395 yard drive yesterday as an example) and the greens are super fast so I need high spin balls to have any control.  I still have a couple dozen of my crap balls left but had to get some new high end balls for the rest of winter.  I also had to get another set of sunglasses.  The glare in Co. in the winter is incredible since there are no trees to create shadows and the sun is low in the sky it's virtually impossible to track the ball all the way to the ground so I'm switching from my dark lenses to orange lenses in hopes that the brightness will help.  Anyone have any tips for fighting the glare?

My balls of choice have TFP written on them.
