2015 PG Turtle Jackson has committed to UConn! Big get for KO. He's a 6'5" PG who will play combo, and a top 40, 4 star recuit. Apparently he was a top 15 before he busted his knee last year, but is 100% recovered. He had offers from Kansas, Florida, Georgia, and GA Tech.

Let's take down Cincy on Thursday to cap off a great week.

At this point, I think UConn could be as high as a 4 seed if they go on a run to end the year. They still have to go to Louisville, but the rest of the schedule is manageable. The Florida win is looking better and better as we go further and could provide a seed bump when bunched up with other teams. It sucks that the conference tourney is on Memphis' home court though.

Close game at halftime. If you had told me 4 years ago that SMU would be competitive with UConn I'd have laughed in your face. You may end up winning this one but damn if the Mustangs didn't give you a run for your money.

That three by Brown, after SMU grabbed the o-board, was enormous. Lead grows from 5 to 8 with under 3:00 to play.

Be afraid, Huskies. Be very afraid.

It's best case scenario for uconn as they can't beat SMU or Louisville. But they are going to lose to Memphis, likely badly. And they are going to lose in first round of NCAA. There is something bad happening inside the locker room.

Does anyone care about this tourney? I read yday that after next year they are hoping to move it to Orlando. It's a joke

Lol. I underestimated the suck of josh pastner. And uconn shooting 80 percent from three.

Good to see Brimah and Daniels contribute and Giffey play an all around game. The Kilpatrick v Napier storyline will be played out. Should be interesting. Winner gets Louisville!!

They're beating Cincinnati tonight.  That puts them in a 3rd game against Louisville in which the other 2 were not really that competitive.  I think a win tonight gets them a 4 seed.  A tournament title then it puts a 3 seed in play.  A win over Florida, 2 over Cincinnati, 3 wins over Memphis gives them many quality wins.  Even that win against Harvard looks good right about now.

Brimah coming into his own and Daniels/Boat finally showing up were enough to offset a poor game from Bazz. They played hard. Ollie did a great job with TOs and substitutions.

Let's see how they respond to Louisville, who is on another planet right now. The struggle against the press is a bad omen. Ollie needs to use Nolan or Brimah to break it, Napier and Bazz are too small to pass out of the double teams. Hopefully they change how they attack it. And they were dominated by montrell last game. Get him in foul trouble maybe. Pitino is best in the biz, too. Ugh. Tough team.

Lol at the Boneyard. It's 95 percent garbage. But last night the arena was 40 percent full. And they are going to move to Orlando? Lol. It's a joke. Think about this without Louisville. U care about any of this?!? Whoo Hoo we just won the AACk by beating Memphis, Cincy and SMU!!! It's funny to me to troll some of the fanboy lemmings over there, but the underlying message is true. they hated me when I said hiring PP would destroy the program. Program is dead. And I don't see how uconn sports will be relevant at all in five years if they are still in the AACk. Can't compete financially. SEC teams getting $50m to Uconn's $4m? Lol. Auburn or Ole Miss could offer Ollie $5m per. Bye. Football will average 15-20k people with no P5 home games ever again. Ever. Think about that. Your best case is getting Rutgers again. It's sad. Uconn hoops have cache and national appeal. But it's slowly disappearing. The fan base has shrunk, and playing 18 games in the AACk is dreadful. They will be closer to gonzaga than Cuse.

It sucks. Herbst and her AAU plan are the best hope. But that's years away. By then the big 12 might be in shambles and Texas, OU, and Kansas will look better than uconn.

Sadly I can't disagree with anything you just wrote. But they way I look at is I graduated in '88. If you told me back then they would win 3 national championships, played in a Fiesta Bowl, beat Notre Dame in football and actually hosted Michigan at our stadium I would have said you were nuts. So it was a great ride and sorry it's over. I'll still go to games because it's still my school. And hey we're getting to the age where we might start liking women's basketball and they still should be winning national championships.

Edit: And my wish for this year is at least make the Sweet 16 in the east. I so want to be in MSG on a Friday night in March and watch them play a big game.

I agree with all of that. Thank Jim Calhoun. The administration killed the athletic department. It sucks so bad.

I think they are a five seed. And I think they can beat anyone except Louisville. Lol.

Yup- the committee thought very little of this conference. Once Louisville was revealed as a 4 I knew they were a 6-7.

My other disappointment was as it went on I really thought we were going to get PC in a 6-11 game. That would have been fun.

if the clear best team in your conference is a 4-seed (and is leaving next year) what does that say about the perception of said conference? Right now, the AACk is significantly below the Big East and A10, never mind the P5 conferences. Its over, man

They can beat St Joe's and the Villanova game would be fun. Nova beat uconn last year pretty easily, i know it was a year ago, but many of the same players. Nova doesn't have a true center, but have length that gives napier and boatright trouble

you can get in cheaply on stubhub, but maybe hurry? If UNC makes it will buy more than ISU, I would think. If UVA loses a bunch of tix will come free, too

Sunday should not be a problem

FUCKING HUGE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't think I've ever been more proud of a UConn team than this one. Just SO tough. And there haven't been many more satisfying wins than taking it to the Big East and putrid Villanova tonight. Kevin Ollie is the right man for this team and I LOVE their chances moving forward. ‪#‎bleedblue‬

There are several players who will be better NBA players than Shabaaz Napier, but I don't think there is a better player in NCAA basketball than him.  Since he stayed at UConn for four years I believe he's a top five player of ALL time for the school.  Thats amazing.

And now they go back to MSG.  Couldn't have scripted it better.

Edit:  And how about Ollie's halftime interview.  WOW.

The 718
1 or 2 more wins for this team, a 6-win season and a shitty bowl for the football team, and maybe a title for the women, for those who care about such things, and maybe they can get an invite from a real conference and get off the Island of Misfit Toys??

They just might outlast all the teams from certain "real" conferences.

One can only hope.  On selection Sunday there were one clear messages the committee sent to the teams......the AAC is thought of as a mid major conference.  When Louisville leaves look out.

I'm choosing to ignore that for now and focus on this team, its players, and coach.

Great job by Giffey grabbing 11 boards, they are going to need more of that against unc/Iowa st. How does a 7 footer like brimah only get one rebound

lots of good publicity about how Uconn fans are driving prices of tickets at MSG through the roof and are more expensive than any other regional by $100s of dollars and more than a FF ticket at this point. Will be a very pro Uconn crowd Sunday if they can beat ISU Friday.

I hope the UConn admins are sending all this to Delaney. I still can't believe Rutgers is in the B1G. lolol

I am still working it and hope to be going. Like I said before the tournament all I want is one more big weekend at the Garden.

I've really come to accept our fate in all of this but the Rutgers in the Big Ten is the one thing that bugs the hell out of me. They've haven't done a damn thing but cash checks. They had one half way decent football season and in almost 20 years in the Big East they never made the NCAA Tournament. Oh well

God, I really wish I could get in the building on Friday.  I've been to MSG games involving Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, Michigan, and Syracuse but this atmosphere will be absolutely electric.  I've only been to two UConn games at MSG both against St. John's.

If ANYBODY has a ticket I can buy, please let me know.  This is the first time NCAA games have been at MSG in 50 years and UConn is in it.  Doesn't get much better than that.

Amazing. So tough. I actually felt good about this game when i saw the MSU players telling at each other. They are rattled. they had never seen defense and effort like that

I thought Ollie got out coached a lot, especially by Pitino, but damn he has pushed every right button. And I LOVED the big big double on Payne. Took that one from Jimmy C in the 99 title game.

Nolan was great today.

I'm just happy they won so I can watch this team play another week.
As a fan I just feel blessed to have had some amazing and fun teams/rides these past few years, between the 11' team, last years Sox and now this Huskies team.

The fact they got to back to, play, and win it in the Garden and they've gotten to exercise some ghosts from Tourny's past with Iowa st., Michigan st. and a chance to do the same with Florida only makes it sweeter.... I don't want the run to end.

Try and wipe the smile off my face. What a great run to the Final Four. And as posted before tourney started just get us to MSG. We did and we won. Conference alignment still sucks but we are UConn we just win.

Just great game to watch. Couple scrappy mid majors put on a show. Hope to see one of them get a chance to win a first round NCAA tourney game against a big time team - it's what March is all about.
Hey duke sox, Despite ESPN making it sound like duke and Syracuse are the only two quality teams that play in the NCAA, once again the jimmy Calhoun family tree shows that willpower and heart means more than conference affiliation or tv contracts or Vegas lines
