Of the players you listed, I like King, Connor, Goff, Langford, Greco, Godfrey, and to a lesser degree Avril and Crable. Zbikowski could be a great pickup for special teams. I think he'll be an amazing special teams player.

Of course I'm biased, but I'd love to see them go with Tyvon Branch. I'm pretty sure he logged the fastest 40 time amongst DB's. He's got great size and could be a solid safety in the NFL. Also, he's an excellent special teams guy.

I've always been intrigued by Zbikowski. I seem to remember him having "first round potential" a couple years ago, he's a big hitter, but are his coverage skills that bad? (legit question, I really don't know)

One guy who carries a fifth-round grade because he runs a 4.63: safety Jamar Adams of Michigan. I like him a lot more than Crable. He's extremely smart, plays hard, still a little raw. I think he'll stick with whomever takes him.

Right off the top in the third round, I like Cliff Avril. He's big for a 34 OLB, but he's still fast enough to make plays and could also play inside. I don't think it would hurt to add another corner prospect as well, like Justin King or Charles Godfrey.

I could see adding a big tackle like Anthony Collins, knowing he won't contribute much if anything this coming season. Or John Greco, who could step in a bit sooner, and plays guard as well.

Safety DaJuan Morgan stands out among safeties not yet taken. A little slow to play corner, but he could help out in the nickel.

In the seventh-round, free agent category, there's RB Tim Hightower, who seems like a character guy who could offer a change of pace on third downs. Tight end Derek Fine is slow, but projects as a decent blocker. WR Chaz Schilens has size and speed and nothing else.

Second day wish lists have a tendency of drying up very quickly.

My picks:

DBs:

Tyvon Branch - If nothing else, he will make the team as a special teams gunner. Big competition leap for him but, like many, I'm sick of smurfs.

Justin King - Quality size, speed and productivity for an early 2nd day pick.

Charles Godfrey - He worries me a little but I'm not picking a smurf.

Quentin Demps - Ball hawk free safety. The Patriots just lost about 6 INTs per season and I'd be willing to bet Demps' tendency to find the ball will translate to the pros.

Josh Barrett - Big dude for a safety. Not terribly productive in college but he's one of those guys who tempts you with the physical gifts.

LBs:

Shawn Crable - Perfect size for a 3-4 OLB. One of my employees loves him and her family pumps more cash into that school than most of us make. When in doubt, go with advice from the wealthy, I say.

Marcus Howard - He really doesn't have the size to put him on a wish list for a 3-4 team but the dude can play ball.

Cliff Avril - If he makes it, it will take him three seasons to do so. High risk - high potential reward with this guy.

Trevor Scott - My 6th or 7th round flier pick. If he's groomed and takes to being an OLB, he has a small chance of becoming a Vrabel.

RB:

Jamaal Charles - I really want them to take this kid. He's a dancer but he doesn't hesitate - his feet are always moving him forward. Goes from a dead stop to full speed in absolutely no time at all. I believe he would immediately take over as the third down back, as he's a better runner than Faulk, could potentially become a huge asset in the passing game and should fumble at least as much as Faulk. To me, he really is a perfect player for a team that loves to screen and draw like the Patriots.

OL:

Carl Nicks - The dude is a mountain. Big time drive blocker. Perfect fit for a right OT on this team.

Donald Thomas - Yeah, another Huskie. Great late round pick with the potential to fill in for Neal.

Best case scenario for tomorrow: Charles, Crable, Nicks in the third. Demps in the fourth. Scott in the 6th. Thomas in the 7th.

Collins is who ESPN pegged the Patriots for in their revised mock third round, following CB Justin King (Dolphins), LB Dan Conner (Rams), WR Mario Manningham (Chiefs), DE Cliff Avril (Panthers) and CB Charles Godfrey (Iowa).

And FWIW, ESPN also put the Patriots down for BYU defensive end Bryan Kehl with the 94th overall pick.

I have a feeling that today we are going to pick at 69, trade 78 for a #2 next year, and use 94 and 129 to move up.

A ton of teams have multiple 3rd-round picks today:

Pats, Ravens, Chiefs and Falcons each have three.

Panthers, Lions, Bears, Bengals & Texans have two apiece.

The flip side is that the Jets, Browns, Broncos, Jags, Raiders, Chargers, Vikings, Saints, and Seahawks have none. In fact, New Orleans, San Diego, Jacksonville and Minnesota don't pick again until the 5th round.

Welp, we know who is good left on the board, so does everyone else. Parcells taking Langford is great for them. He is better than Merling.

SD doesn't have a pick this round, I hope it is a #2 next year. Though that could only be a +7 in pick position.

I heard they traded with SD. ;)

I still hope Connor is available with our next pick. Would've liked Connor and Godfrey...damn you Carolina

Man I gotta say the Pats may draft well and stockpile better than anyone but when it comes to watching the draft as a spectator they are kinda boring. Make a pick.

Can anyone direct me to a site that lists draft day trades from previous seasons? Because it seems that in the Belichick/Piolo era the Pats have traded down a dozen times, but I can't ever recall them trading up.

Not to sidetrack this, but I just turned on the NFL.com stream - with them streaming the draft live, online, what's the likelihood of actual games starting to come soon?

Eh... I'm not really impressed with this trade. There were a lot of quality names available, and the 2nd round pick next year is most likely a really low one. A high 3rd round pick in to a low 2nd round pick, when we have obvious needs? Eh..........

2nd and a 5th sounds good, although to be fair, that 2nd is going to be at the end of the second round, so you're talking about mabye 10 spots for a 5th rounder.

I'd like to see the Pats get a OL.

The most recent one I can think of was when they traded up to get Chad Jackson.

edit: don't know a site, though. And I agree, they seem to trade either down in the current draft or up in the future draft.

Oh, it's coming -- but probably when the technology is more readily available to the masses. They'll want to maximize audience exposure (and revenues) before they bypass the networks and go straight to the market.

They also traded up for Ty Warren.

They traded up for Daniel Graham also.

It is impossible to follow the Patriots during day two with all the trades. I was really hoping they'd get 3 good players in this round making 5 total and that would've been a nice haul.
