The Blues are very good, but they seem to have a penchant for blowing huge leads. They've done it a few times, especially with Halak in net. Even if the B's go down, I think that if they keep playing their game, they'll have a chance to get back in it. Ottawa scored 3 third period goals to tie up St Louis' last game.

Wear em down, knock them out.

Outstanding effort in the third. Not a lot when right in the first two periods but they stuck with it and got themselves back into the game. They deserve the extra point. Go get it.

Curious to see if Julien goes with the 3 forwards approach in OT. He's used it at home, not sure if he'll do it on the road.

Edit: Yep, 3 forwards. Good sfuff.

Do any other teams do this 4 on 4? I love how aggressive Claude has been in OT lately and teams seem caught off guard.

Meh, good play by Oshie and his stupid, fat face.

Hell of a game, though, and coming away with a point after the first two periods feels a lot like a win.

he really has no other choice but to be aggressive. The Bruins are an awful shoot out team and hence their best chance to get the extra point is to win it in OT

Coming away with a point on the road against the fucking Blues without Z is a pretty solid outcome, especially from 0-2 down.

I'll take it.

California. Duh.
I swear NHL Network hates the Bruins. Was watching NHL Tonight and they didn't show highlights of either goal during the comeback, but couldn't wait to show the game-ender.

Just as the thought "Warsofsky in OT? Huh." goes through my head the puck winds up in the net. Bah.

really wasn't his fault though. Soderberg was the one who threw it at the Blue who deflected it towards goal I believe.

The better team lost tonight. Still a very encouraging effort especially without Z.

Keep it going on Saturday.

Eh, I wouldn't go that far.  The Bs were pretty solidly outplayed in the first period and a half or so.  It was an even match overall. Agree that they did well to claw their way back into it against an excellent team without Z.

Funny to go back to Myt1's and my posts about Z's PP goals this year and see the effect of not having him on the PP this game.

Don't have the stats in front of me, but the Bruins outshot and out chanced them considerably and the defense didn't play badly. I thought most of the team pretty solidly outplayed the Blues and had some tough puck luck, but Rask had a tough night. He's part of the team, though.

They did outshoot them but that was partly facilitated by the Bs having one more PP than the Blues.  Especially in the first period and the beginning of the second, the flow of the play felt to me like STL was getting more sustained pressure and better scoring chances.  I'm aware that this is awfully subjective analysis and might be influenced by the fact that STL scored in those periods and BOS didn't.

I agree that Rask had a rough night.

Yeah, it just reminded me of one of those games where the Bs were buzzing but couldn't buy a goal. Krug not getting a lift in the PP, Marchand getting a post on an open net, and a few others. I was pretty happy with the effort.
