Yeah, the DeBrusk story has been a little weird. They keep saying he'll be ready by X and then delaying it when X arrives. That's been the pattern for 3 straight games now. Before the break it was he'll be ready for Washington. Then it was no Washington, but likely Dallas or Nashville. Then was doubtful for Dallas but probable for Nashville. When they talk about injury timelies, traditionally they don't give return dates or use terms like probable unless they are close to certain.

They need to make roster moves to activate him but it doesn't have to be a trade so I don't think the cap is the holdup, though I could be wrong.

He was still in a non contact jersey at the beginning of the week, but I haven't seen anything about if that has changed since that report, did I miss something? If not maybe they still have real reservations about his LBI and that's why they aren't activating him?

No, he took full contact on Monday. That was when Monty said Jake was doubtful for Dallas but probable for Nashville.

It likely is just they're being cautions but this runs counter to how they typically handle injury returns and timelines. When Marchand and McAvoy were returning from injury. "Not playing, not playing, oops yes he is!" With Jake, they've now basically missed 3 games where they said he was "probable" at one point or another.

Ok, so I did miss something then. Figured if anyone on this board knew it was you. haha, thanks for the correction! I agree the whole situation is just odd though at this point. Guess we all get to play the wait and see game.

That Dallas game was a blast. Seeing some playoff-level hockey recently. Get the PP sorted out and they’ll be good to go.

How about an early 2 goal lead against Nashville, ok? Win please. A goalie hug would be a nice way to cap off the day.

As much as I’d like to see DeBrusk back in the lineup I’m glad that they’ve got enough of a cushion to take extra precautions.

.
DeBrusk Still Sidelined: Jake DeBrusk was, once again, a full participant in Thursday's morning skate, but will not suit up against the Predators. The winger, who has not played since Jan. 2 in the Winter Classic at Fenway Park, is now eyeing a Saturday return to the lineup.

"Very hopeful for Saturday," said Montgomery. "He's not ready. Really close. He had a good skate again yesterday. Just where he's at, we think Saturday's gonna be a really good opportunity. We felt if he played today then he wouldn't play Saturday."

Saros is a darn good goalie (6th in goals saved above expected per 60), but the Preds are quite middling in terms of 5v5 play and penalty kill. Is tonight the return of the vaunted Bruins' power play?

The Preds are also one of the few teams that have a lower Share of PP time than the Bruins, so maybe the Bs will get a few PPs tonight. We'll see...

This is going to be a fun game to watch. We'll win, of course, and it won't be close.

Before both Marchands pass and Bergerons pass back, I'm yelling ,"shoot already" both times.

It would appear that "right couch" remains my best position.

That was holding right there... no call on that shorthanded... guy actually grabbed the jersey and pulled him back

They missed the obvious highstick and yet called the dubious hold, eh? Well, all the more satisfying when we win big.

Pasta just took two slashes directly to his stick hand hard enough that you saw his hand stagger pack from teh puck... in front of hte ref... no call and a high hit to pasta's head on the check... gonna be a long long night

Predators crew just called out the "got away with a penalty there" on the hit to Pasta's head...
