Hayward also had the block on Shamet. His shot has been way off, but he's done a lot of good things tonite.
Exactly. It's almost like it's the NBA and you're not going to be lights out shooting all the time, but still, at the end of the night put up 21/13/4 despite every missed shot making half the game thread think "old hurt Hayward" is back.

I loved that game and would love to see a Celtics / Clippers Finals.

I am a bit worried how the team evolves if Tatum becomes "the guy". It seemed like he was disrupting the flow a bit when he was going iso last night. I guess it's fine when the shots are falling. Scal said on his podcast a few days ago that the C's haven't yet proven themselves to be as good as it seems they might be when completely healthy, which I think is true. I think they need to keep the elite ball distribution up no matter who is having a hot night.
Valid point. Not to piss in the punchbowl, but Tatum, for all his brilliance offensively, had exactly one assist last nite. It was a big one––he set up Hayward's 3-pointer in the second OT––but as Tatum attracts more attention from opposing teams, I hope he looks for more opportunities to pass.

His assists are per/36 and per/100 possessions are up about 25% this season. He's doing it.

He only took 23 shots. I dont think the assist numbers tell us anythiong about 1 game. Hayward and Walker shot a combined 11-38. Could have been quite a few Tatum asists clanging off rims.

That should be a tracked stat (potential assists).

For the record Tatum had 5 potential assists last night, so it looks like he lost 4 due to missed shots, so guys in assist position shot 1 for 5 on his "assist" passes. There is some wiggle room there though--it could have been at end of shot clock, or in bad position, etc.

Kemba lost 7.
