Keep piling up the points. Would like to see a more complete game than the one they played last night. A regulation win would be cool too.

Grz is hurt again and doubtful to play tomorrow. Clifton goes back in. Front end of a back-to-back, not sure how they'll handle the goalies.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Ritchie - Krejci - Smith
DeBrusk - Coyle - Bjork
Frederic - Kuraly - Wagner

Lauzon- McAvoy
Clifton - Carlo
Zboril - Miller

Rask?

I'm hoping Halak gets the start with Rask going against the Islanders on Saturday. Then you can go with Halak against NJ on Thursday and give Rask a full week off before the Flyers game in Tahoe.

Hello. I don't want to bump the other thread, so I'll just say here that I finally watched the highlights from the last game and presume that the NHL is starting us out with a two-goal lead in this one? What the actual shit.

Also, MSG is a dump built over a now mostly defunct transit atrocity.

They got the call right on the Rangers tying goal. The on ice officials, broadcast and league just did a horrific job explaining it. It's not the same, but it kinda reminded me of the Wagner goal in this game around 5:30

At the time, the Wagner play was not reviewable. Wagner batted it down and then put it in legally. They've since added the "missed stoppage" challenge so they would've waived it off. For the Rangers goal, the broadcast kept harping on the crossbar but that was irrelevant. The threshold was shoulder since the puck went to a teamate before being put in.As Cassidy said, the Bruins had the option to challenge that the original touch was a high stick but they probably would've lost it. And a lost challenge means you go shorthanded with less than 10:00 to go in a 2-2 game.

The DeBrusk no-goal was 50/50. I thought in, but I also didn't think it was conclusive.

This is correct. Shoulder is the point of reference if the teammate knocks it in.

The automatic review can only review if the person who directed it in did so above the crossbar. They reviewed to see if the 2nd rangers player actually touched it in, and if he didn’t if the first was above the crossbar. The 2nd guy did, below the crossbar, so good goal.

The Bruins could have challenged (at risk of a penalty) that the Ranger to Ranger deflection was from above shoulder level, but they wisely didn’t because they would have lost that challenge.

They got it right, unfortunately.

I bet they go with Halak tonight given that he and Rask will split these two games. Rask faced this team 48 hours ago and their next game after tomorrow night isn't until Thursday -- don't want Rask getting too rusty. Just a gut feeling.

The only thing more sluggish than the bruins start is this game thread.
Hockey on Friday nights is weird.

I’m shocked that Marchand has never logged 100 PIM in a season. As a point of reference, Chris Chelios had 14 100+ PIM seasons, including 8 in a row and 3 200+ PIM seasons. I knew the game had changed, but I guess I didn’t realize the degree.
