Even worse.

Load management is the devil.

Just play them fewer minutes, jeez.

Giving them a few games off to totally rest their bodies is way more effective than having them go full speed but for less time each game. Load management is exactly the way to go when you’re looking for a long post-season run.

Will TimeLord ever return? (been out of the country for 4 weeks)
Here is what I found:

He is set for another scan and evaluation February 4, the team tweeted. Team doctors expect to have a more concrete idea of when he can start playing again after that session. Williams has a bone edema in his left hip and won’t return until after the All-Star break.

Two? He was active most of the year last year, intermittently in Maine vs Boston. And of course, regularly for the first six weeks of this season.
TL played a grand total of 283 NBA minutes and 5 Maine games last season. There were more than a couple of instances where Theis, Baynes, Horford were injured and TL could have played minutes but he would have some odd injury.

Now it appears there's a chance he ends up playing 19 games this season.

Several of his injuries aren't even game related.

His development has been stunted for both seasons here. A BIG that can't stay healthy is borderline useless since they take the majority of the pounding in the modern NBA game. The Celtics will keep TL around because he's cheap and can jump out of the gym. BUT he's taking up valuable roster real estate and serviceable BIGs are pretty darn cheap.

He never played last year. Hogan covered it.
He's way behind where he should be and that has a huge impact on his foul rate and how long he can stay on the floor when he does get back.
It's also possible that this is what he is- an athletic big who can't stay in the lineup and is basically a what if guy.

Couldn't they pick games to load manage that are against lesser teams, teams that aren't our top competition for playoff seeding?

Sure, although I think Brad likes to give different players different challenges to see how they respond and grow. What if Kemba gets into foul trouble early in a playoff game? Well tonight they get to gain some experience working through life without Kemba against a good team. Roles shift.

But more than anything, I just think they key it off whoever has a nagging injury.

Well, I do think Kemba does have a sore knee, so while he'd likely give it a go in postseason, there's no reason to push it now.

I mean, the officiating treatment of Theis is completely out of control. The Celtics need to do something about this shit

Hubie... for the love of God... STFU.
"15 blocks of three pointers is unheard of."

So, I google--still looking for final numbers, but LAST YEAR MITCHELL ROBINSON HAD 13 BLOCKS OF THREE-POINTERS BY END OF FEBRUARY.
