Edmonton goalie might replace assistant crack whore in the worst job category.

Scrivens saved 96 of the last 100 shots he faced (in the last two games) and finished 1-1. Yeah, that's a terrible job.

Good game for a matinee. The Bruins showed up to play. It really could've been a lot worse. 4-0 was a nice little win. Onwards and upwards.

Think he meant trying to play behind such an awful defense, Scrivens has been sublime in spite of having Nick Schultz as his #1

It's so incredibly difficult to fathom my love for Ference given my (and SoSH's) reaction when he re-signed. The only tribute video I was thinking of was one of him rehabbing from [insert injury] and instead he gets two standing O's during the game.

Random aside, but does anything know about the beef between him and Recchi that Brick alluded to? I assumed it was NHLPA related and not from the Paille hit but I didn't pay enough attention to figure what he was talking about. It apparently got squashed quickly but that was the first I heard of it.

I think Ference was part of (or the leader of) the NHLPA group that forced Paul Kelly out and a lot of people didn't care for how it was done.

Edit: While obviously my favorite Ference moment was the giving of the finger, I loved that no one was quicker to drop the mitts to stick up for a wronged teammate. Ference fought guys much bigger than him with zero hesitation if he had to send a message. The ones I really remember were him jumping whatever idiot hit Looch with a headshot that ignited the Thrashers brawl, jumping David Backes (?!) and attacking James Neal for putting Boychuk into the boards from behind.

Ference fighting Avery was actually for Ott taking a cheap shot on Nokelainen.

Yeah, had them mixed up, which is why I changed my post.

Either way, Ference was/is great.
