This is the type of game where a top team, at home against a B2B opponent, can lock the game up with 6-8 minutes to top notch play at both ends.

If they let Houston hang around, we might see another Orlando situation

Horford with the "I'm 36 and this is the regular season against the Rockets" level effort on a couple loose balls.

Probably the right move, honestly.
Yeah I absolutely don't want him going to the ground in the 2nd quarter of a December game against a lottery team from the west. This should be a half step above preseason for Al.

I will say Green got a whistle on a made layup that I don't think Al even made contact with his body, then Brogdon gets knocked to the floor on a miss and no whistle...

This is classic letdown energy against a shit team in between two biggies. They’ll turn it on later and stomp them out but for now it’s low energy and blah.

good night to play Luke...Horford isn't really involved
Yeah, after national TV game against Gainnis, this was probably a good night to let him have off anyway, especially with Rob back.

Looks like he's taken it upon himself to do it on his own.

They’d run away with this much faster if they actually ran an offense instead of settling for one pass and a three every time down the floor.

This is the kind of game where your two superstars have to impose their will at both ends of the floor. That means drive to the rim. Also, take stopping KPJ and Green as a challenge

Biggest problem is so many badly bricked wide open 3s.

2nd biggest problem is these refs have been beyond putrid.

Agreed on the missing open 3's being the bigger problem. I could care less how it's called, I just hate when a game isn't called the same on both ends

I wonder if the Celtics are planning some kind of Paul Silas tribute with Coach Steve Silas in the building

On Sunday, my10 year old daughter was randomly grabbed in hall (concourse?) by a couple of cheerleaders to participate in a kids' dunk contest. We snuck out a few times during first half timeouts to practice the Dee Brown no peek. She nailed it, but she refused to pump up her sneakers first. She took home the hardware. View attachment 59435
That is awesome. I was able to attend on Xmas last minute, definitely a deserving champion!

The problem is you can't be consistent when you are incompetent. These calls aren't "calling it tight" or "letting them play".

They are phantom calls made with no visualization of the play. That's always just going to end up being random.

Celtics are 10-16 from 2 and 12-12 from the line. If they want to give you wide open 3s you gotta keep shooting, but really we can get any shot we want.

Let’s see if this foul on JB’s face will get him motivated to attack the basket instead of just shooting threes

When this team plays some not so good teams, they have a in a knack for just taking the night off defensively. While it is fairly annoying at times, I think they have the ability to turn it up when they want to and it won’t be much of a problem against the better teams and in the playoffs. The season is so long. If this is how they choose to preserve themselves than so be it.

For a team that played last nite and supposedly didn't get to Boston until 4 am, the Rockets have a ton of energy.
