The wagon rolls onto the road to take on the Devils. Last game before the holiday break. Keep rolling!

Was originally going to buy tix to this one but accidentally (yes, accidentally) bought tix to the game here next Wednesday instead. But in looking at the rain followed by precipitous temperature drop I think I am happy with the mistake in retrospect. Oh well, win both of them.

Ullmark in net. No morning skate today so we'll have to wait for a lineup but Monty said he was contemplating getting Zboril and Greer in for this one. Greer for Smith seems like the obvious move up front, not sure who would come out on D if Zboril does play.

Another heavyweight bout tonight. The Devils are equal to the Bruins in even-strength expected goals percentage (and slightly ahead 5v5). The Bs have the advantage in shooting and save percentages and in special teams play, however. New Jersey had the night off last night but tonight will be their third game in four days, so I imagine both teams will be fighting fatigue.

Burned . . . Blacklisted
I like the Montgomery will change lines in game and very much thought the combo of Coyle with Foligno made sense, given Foligno’s willingness to Bennett front.

Wasn’t how they got the goal from that duo, but I like the pairing.

I dislike The Devils intensely, what with their history of the trap and Scott Stevens and subjecting is to Marty Broduer in car commercials.

The Island
The funny part is Grzelcyk and McLeod were having some kind of conversation after the scrum and McLeod almost look apologetic. Like he thought Grzelcyk did something he didn’t.

A bit of luck there for Pasty but I expect that the fact of NJ playing so much recently combined with their all-or-nutin' start will begin to take its toll on their energy level now -- and particularly in the 3rd, when we will fully wake up. Or so I hope.

Question. I'm all for signing him to basically whatever it takes, but does a Pasta extension mess with the cap this year? I know that is true in some sports
It would be a fresh deal so no it wouldn’t impact the cap this year. It’s also getting to the point where 8/88 would be a bargain.
