Oh well, hard to win when you turn the ball over 20 times and give up 12 offensive rebounds. Glad we don't have to watch games against that garbage team for a couple months.

That's the Super Bowl for the Heat. Enjoy it. Come May, they'll supplicate themselves fruitlessly once again when the Celtics truly apply themselves.

Yep. Only thing that slightly concerns me is that they looked no better than they did offensively late in the playoffs last season when the pace and intensity ratcheted up to playoff levels. Turnovers and ISO bricks.
4th quarter comeback they generated a ton of open looks off ball movement and drives. OT the Heat had Herro pick up the ballhandler and everybody decided to attack the mismatch. Off night for Tatum is all that stopped the Cs and I attribute that to the ref-related rhythm of the game.

His last shot was wide open and it was close to going in. If it goes, this entire thread is completely different.
Not sure that shot would have been a game-winner, though. Miami would have had plenty of time for Butler to supply a dagger.

No, they are good and will be a problem. Need to get them play the Bucks before us.

They had two incredible possessions down the stretch with ball movement resulting in ocean-wide open shots. Best I’ve seen from them in late and close situations. Not too worried about a close loss against one team actually trying on defense. Need to clean up the turnovers of course.

If they couldn't beat us last year with Tatum's jacked up shoulder and Smart and Rob on one leg, they ain't beating us this year.
They could and nearly did. Without Timelord we lose. If Timelord is out, it’s a very tough series. If he’s in and healthy, it’s prob 5 games.

Lived and breathed? He is one of the most well-known assholes in the league which is part of why he has been traded from every team he’s played on until landing under King Asshole.
I responded to someone else, but I think that was all about teammates that didn't care. He's in a winning culture now and they love him. I think that mostly stemmed from the 6ers and they aren't a tired fire at all

This is a great point. The possession with about 1:50 left that ended with a missed corner three from Horford was particularly well run.

This thread is hilarious. They weren't going to go 78-4. Some things to clean up, but Miami played the absolute best possible game they could play and it came down to OT. Tatum stinks instead of sucks and they win in regulation. Early foul trouble pretty clearly got him out of sync.

The foul trouble threw everything off and I think Tatum wanted to come back in and put his stamp on it and didn’t run any offense for a handful of possessions.

Would like to see more pick and pop action with Al in these situations against aggressive doubling. Let Mr. Good Decision make good decisions with space.

Nobody’s saying the season’s over, but people laughing off Miami because of this early Butlerless record are fooling themselves. Entire Celtics panel saying same thing now.

What’s funnier is people thinking the Celtics are just gonna roll to a championship. Miami is a bad matchup and will be a problem to anyone with Butler healthy. Bucks might be better than Boston, too. Nobody’s saying the season’s over, but people laughing off Miami are fooling themselves. Entire Celtics panel saying same thing now.
Who thinks this? Haven’t seen this anywhere here.

When people laugh off a team like Miami, where’s that lead us?
Who cares? No game in early December is indicative of anything. We were sitting at .500 into late January last year. The most likely scenario at this point is we don’t even see them in the spring. Why worry about it?

I'm not laughing them off but I think the Celtics are pretty obviously the better team and have the best player on the floor and that's not even close. Generally that wins you playoff series.
I do not agree Boston is obviously better without Timelord, I guess we just have to agree to disagree. This early season record does not reflect who Miami will be come playoff time imo. Sure, Tatum was off, but Jaylen was top of his game. Right now, Boston’s defense is not where it needs to be for me to say they are obviously better than the top 5-6 teams in a playoff basketball series imo. I think these records will even out a bit over the season. Caveat if Timelord comes back healthy and tearing it up, RIP everyone else.
