Well that's about as clear an instance of a linesman bending to crowd pressure as you'll ever see. 2 full strides after Henderson tries to keep it in, the flag for a throw-in goes up.

If they fired John Atcherberg I'd have a trio of beautiful presents on an otherwise shitty Wednesday.

Jon Moss making a hash of another match, shocker there

Firmino's clear block off of Traoré turning into a throw-in is another example

Something tells me Liverpool will regret not capitalizing on a lot of these opportunities...

As I type that, an excellent string of passes to set up Origi

I shit on him enough that I have to give Moss credit for playing the advantage to set up that goal

Time to shit on Moss again - how has De Roon not been booked? Two late challenges on Henderson and a hand ball

Huge win for United. After giving up a goal in the 62nd minute, United are not giving one of the more clear cut penalty decisions I've seen then were wrongly taken away an offside goal. If a draw is the result they are in crisis mode again but Pogba, who was excellent all game, shrugs off Cabaye to slot Zlatan in one on one with the keeper for him to finish it off in the 87th.

Okay so normally I don't like complaining about the refs because I truly do believe that the decisions even out over the course of a season...but after rewatching the United game I can honestly say that Craig Pawson had the worst game I've ever seen from a referee.

Lee's challenge on Bailly should have been yellow. No card given.
Rojo's two footed challenge should have see red. He gave Yellow.
United's first goal should have been disallowed for handball. No call.
United's first goal should have then been disallowed for offside. No call.
United should have had a penalty for handball in the box. No call.
Mata was onside for the goal he scored. Called offside.

Those were the 4 or 5 biggest decisions in the game, and he called them ALL wrong.

You're absolutely right on all of those-- and the funny part was how the announcers were saying what a great game he was having, at least early on.

Palace just refuses to play defense after the 80th minute.

One of the most distressing pieces of this is Rojo has gotten away with tackles in consecutive games that could have badly injured an opponent. I'd like to say that once incident, while regrettable, is understandable. In this case it was so cut and dry it's incomprehensible. Two in a row is mind boggling.

To ignore video evidence during play is sad. To do so after the fact is even worse. It's time.

City have been murdered by refs at several points this season. Every team likely goes through a spell like that, probably champions tend to go through a shorter one than most. Having said all that, given how much video review has encumbered so many other sports I find myself still against it in the PL. I have yet to see it really make a sport better and it seems like it still leads to a billion interpretation nightmares. I never would have dreamed I'd feel this way even 3 years ago but at this point aside from maybe doing more retrospective action even if yellows were awarded and continually doing retro for diving I'd be inclined to leave the match free flowing on the pitch

California. Duh.
That's where I'm at. The idea that a player can't be retroactively punished because the ref says he saw the play originally is stupid. In some cases he clearly didn't actually see it, or he's completely incompetent for not originally punishing it, yet the player gets off on a technicality.

I've posted this video before as a joke, but in this case it's the perfect example. Bosingwa didn't even get called for a foul here, and there was no punishment later.
