Not sure where to look this up, but the Nets announcers suggested that sometimes the Celtics half court defense is much better than their transition defense…

It's one road game mid road trip, I wouldn't make too much of it.

I know it's the Finals rematch but we're playing 5 guard/wing lineups without our 2 best bigs.

And we can't make a shot.

How would Al and Rob help us chase Curry and Thompson around their screens and have them actually miss a 3? By hugging the screener?
Have you been watching Blake? He just sits in the paint.

Guarding shooters like Klay and Steph is as much about the bigs helping as the guards assigned to them.

Romeo Langford started and went 19 and 6 in 29 minutes in a Spurs win at Miami. Weird shit happens every night in this league.

I can't remember the last time Grant Williams was this unproductive.

So is this a one off bad game - law of averages thing against the 11th seed in the West? … or is this a pattern - that we can’t beat this team and won’t when a banner is on the line in June?

If they continue to be the 11th seed then it doesn’t matter.

If they are in the Finals it’s because they are very good, in which case the premise is faulty anyways.

Losses happen so rarely this season, it doesn’t mean every loss is a “blueprint.”

Unless Jim Irsay buys the Warriors they’re not hanging a banner this season.

Golden State has twice as many assists as the Celtics. Which sounds about right.

Well, yeah. But in degree. But I dunno.
I think my more genuine answer is that transition D is always bad—the question is more about how well you stop transition opportunities before they happen, usually by making shots.

And it’s really exacerbated against this team because of who they have launching threes and also have guys cherry-picking on every Celtics shot.
