Continue to not suck so much!

**If injuries weren't a factor, I would argue that Brad should trot out a starting line-up of Horford, Baynes, Williams, Theis and Yabusele just to make certain members on this site happy.**

now you're talking

Yabu playing the point, Theis and Al draining 3's from the wing and Baynes wiping out guards/wings around the hoop!

of course, Williams would be late for tip-off and those 4 would still dominate

No Kyrie, Hayward, or Horford so it looks like the Jays are going off tonight.
Full Injury Report:

Aron Baynes (left ankle sprain) - OUT
Gordon Hayward (illness) - DOUBTFUL
Al Horford (left knee soreness) - DOUBTFUL
Kyrie Irving (right shoulder soreness) - OUT
Guerschon Yabusele (right ankle sprain) - OUT

So this means:

Smart
Brown
Tatum
Morris
Theis

With a bench of:

Wannamaker
Rozier
Dozier
Ojeleye
Williams

The starters may get some serious run tonight, and no doubt does the Big Sleep get some extended time on the floor. I'm kind of excited, provided that AD is sitting out tonight, as speculated.

Horford and Hayward, doubtful or confirmed out? Yikes.

240 minutes. Brad will need to go full Thibs

~ 33-35 mins: Smart, MaMo, Theis, Tatum, Brown, Rozier
~ 15-20 mins: Semi, Williams
maybe a few minutes for Wanamaker, Dozier

Ed Hillel may finally realize his dream about Williams getting 15-20 minutes of run. Unfortunately some of those minutes are likely to coincide with Davis playing.

I bet Ed isn't concerned but that prospect isn't confidence inspiring to me.

Where's the love for Williams and Wanamaker?

Danny and Brad wouldn't sign and keep a player on the roster unless they felt they could play in the NBA. Danny has earned our trust with roster construction. And Brad seems to get the best out of his bench players. Then again I'm just a fan and maybe need to take off my green shaded sunglasses;)

I'm a huge believer in Danny's roster and Brad's coaching. Is that trolling? The Celtics long bench is a strength and hopefully, we'll see it play out tonight.
Fair enough. I thought you were coming back at me for our exchange in the prior gamethread. I agree that Danny and Brad deserve the benefit of the doubt.

That said, I think they have their reasons for not giving Time Lord more run because he simply isn't ready to play meaningful minutes vs rotational NBA bigs yet. No knock on him as there is a lot of technique involved in doing so effectively. I also think that Wanamaker was envisioned more to soak up garbage time vs playing any minutes of consequence.

I am willing to be open minded however, especially in the case of Williams. I would love nothing more than both to prove me wrong tonight.

It's a long season, we'll need these players (Wanamaker/Williams/Dozier) to fill into the rotation from time to time. Larkin and Semi were on the end of the bench to start last season and they ended up playing solid minutes for Brad. As we all know Danny has done a fantastic job recently filling out the roster with cheap/effective players (ie Baynes/Theis/Larkin/Green/Jonas)

I'm looking forward to seeing what we have here. If Brad/PJ/Time Lord add value/show improvement it may open up trade possibilities in Feb or this Summer.

I'd also expect Danny/Brad to be very conservative with injuries, handle key players w/kid gloves and give guys time off. Being healthy by March is the end game.

As long as Williams commits his 6 fouls in 20 minutes, not 10, they might be able to hang in.

I'm glad Davis is playing. I can't wait to see what this squad can do against a very good offensive team at full strength.

By the way, what happened to the 7:05 tipoffs in Boston? Seems like home games lately have all been 7:35 or 8:05, etc. Unless I'm remembering wrong, which is entirely possible.

These motherfuckers on NBA TV are talking about ice under the floor. This is so bad.
