I would really hate to lose this one, as much because of the wait for the next game as anything.

Wagon intact. I like that the Bruins made it through the LTIR maze and now face LTIR pros Tampa.

Win please because it’s more fun than losing.

Brookline
Vasilevskiy is 38th in the league in save percentage. (Eliot is 62nd). Let’s score a bunch on Vasilevskiy before he finds his game.

hockey players are just a different breed. My eyes would still be watering from all the pain.
I had a Dman that in the start of the first took a puck to the face, split his top lip in 2. He went to the hospital, got stitches, came back, and just got dressed as the final horn sounded. He was pissed he didn't make it back on time. Not an important game at all either. I have stayed in net through a torn groin and cracked ribs and I couldn't tell you why

Last year I shattered a knuckle getting hit by a shot, tried to take my next shift (and came off when I couldn’t hold my stick), then went to the bar after. Then went home and went to bed.

I now have no right ring finger knuckle.

I love these stories, and we all have at least one after long enough. They're also all usually similar in ending by just pretending it never happened and NEVER skipping post game beers

For what it’s worth I’ve taken shots that hurt horribly like this at first then ended up being fine so I assumed this was similar. Only this time it wasn’t.

It really really hurt the next morning.

California. Duh.
Don't say that in the soccer thread! The last few minutes of a 1-0 first round World Cup game against some shit Iranian team is more exciting than OT playoff hockey - lolololololol!
Are we talking overtime of game 1 of a first round series? If so, then yes, today's US-Iran game was more intense.

To each their own. Iran had one shot on goal -- for the game.
I've seen the Bruins lose games where they had twice as many shots. It happens.

Iran also had a couple that went barely wide, that as they were happening looked as if they were going in. A last second bad bounce or soft penalty call could have swung the game. It was also in a tournament that you only get one chance every 4 years in, and in our case it had been 8 years. It was an intense watch.

I've played both sports. I've been hurt pretty badly and stayed in the game in both sports. If you have a rooting interest in any game, it can be extremely intense. If you don't like soccer, it's fine, but those of us that like both can live or die with each of them.

Yes, it's just my opinion and I understand that others feel differently. As I said, to each their own. I like WC and Olympic soccer (mostly because of the magnitude of the events, I think), but in my opinion nothing's more exciting than OT playoff hockey -- nothing's even close. The name of both games is to outscore the opponent and you can't score if you don't shoot on net.

Many Bruins have been markedly better this year (e.g. Lindholm, Forbert, Foligno, Cliffy, DeBrusk, Ullmark etc) but tonight Hall, as in previous games, is absolutely flying. The Charlie/Fred/Hall line is is fun to watch because they are big, strong, can muddle in the corners, and are generally better than any other 3rd line. It seems to me that Jim is better than Bruce at seeing how the lines work and mesh.

Greetings. Bruins on TV tonight in BC. I don't get to see Jack and Brick call a game often. Jack sounds drunk or otherwise slow to me. Is it me, or is this what he sounds like now?
