No Tatum was indeed no problem last night as the C’s cruised to victory over the Wiz. We’ll see if we get him tonight against a woeful Hornets squad that has our old friend Terry Rozier, our old nemesis Kelly Oubre (2017 recipient of the lovely “Fuck You Oubre” chant from the Garden crowd), but no Gordon Hayward who is injured because of course he is.

12 out of our last 13, with the opportunity to make it 13 of 14 tonight—a far cry from the opening months of last season.

7:30 tip. NBCSB/League Pass.

WIN.

Just for fun, as it has no predictive value - this years team is 16-4 in its first 20 games.

Last season, 10-10 after 20 games. They didn’t hit 16 wins until a month from now 12/27/21. Their record was then 16-18.

this is more fun so far.

Uggh, I'm going tonight, and of course, I have a giant man sized crush on Jaylen on the floor.

Hate not getting a chance to see him, so if he doesn't play, hopefully Tatum goes for 70. Not that he'll need to...

Jaylen took simultaneous hard shots to the shoulder and neck late in the game last night. He's a tough guy, but this is as good a spot to get him a day off as any.

I expect the Hornets garbage time squad to at least play hard and be pesky and second night of a B2B without Brown and Horford might have some letdown potential? Probably win by 20 but you never know.

PP will not allow a letdown.

The only way they struggle is if Tatum decides he has to score 50 and forces it instead of allowing his awesomeness to happen organically. I think it’s much more likely that he constantly gets double teamed and racks up 12-14 assists while Boston coasts to a 15 point win.

“And Gordon Hayward never plays, so…”

What in the world was that?

If Charles Bartley’s golf swing was a free throw shot…

Jesus, I can't believe the open threes they're splashing, one after another ... they could put up a little more resistance on the interior defense though and try to stop the layup line.

It's fun to watch the opponents telecast on league pass. The announcers are always floored watching the Celtics play.

Looking forward to the ridiculous road trip coming up. Will be a nice test.

Smart has 9 assists, 1st quarter not done yet. Video game stats indeed.

edit: 8 assists-but still...

Back when the team struggled to generate good half court offense, I used to say that every possession should run through Horford because he always made the right pass/shoot/penetrate decision and got open looks for someone more often than not.

Now every possession looks like a Horford possession whether he’s on the floor or not.

Ok, I get that Charlotte is objectively bad—especially so without Rozier and Hayward, but no way the C’s should be scoring at will like this with Jaylen and Al out.

Do we think Mazzula was on the bench last year, watching the times we couldn't score, biting his tongue but thinking... "I can fix this..."

It’s like they read our conversation about regression to the mean and it pissed them off.

I have, in fact, had that thought. :D

One thing is clear: He was paying attention and taking notes.
