What a fucking dive on that spear. Unless hit hit him in the fucking spleen.

Spear was legit: happened right in front of me and Marchand stuck him pretty good.
Legit that he speared him, yes. Legit that he got him good, not so much. That was nothing more than a poke... and an award winning dive in front of the linesman closing on the net.

I confess to not knowing what exactly meets the threshold for a penalty in the NHL. But he absolutely jabbed him with the point of his stick.

I’ve been impaled through the groin by a five foot long stake and didn’t fall down as bad as that guy did on the spear.

Maybe I was just tougher at 8 years old.

Agreed he did. Call it a penalty? Sure. But calling a double for the spear because the guy falls like he's been shot? That's weak reffing.

You were probably bigger, too.

Its like they have to so overplay Pasta that they have to give Marchand and Bergeron opportunities. That line is en fuego right now.

Pasta is a legit superstar. Tough to describe how good he is right now.

I'm very concerned for Sabourin and I'm very concerned for Backes. Backes may not have gotten it as bad, but he did not look ok. I'm not a neurologist, but crying (more generally, being unable to regulate your emotions) is a symptom of a traumatic brain injury. Something similar happened with Luke Kuechly a few years ago, he was bawling his eyes out in a golf cart being taken off the field. Hoping the best for both of these guys, Backes has a history of concussions and I assume Sabourin does too, looking at his career stats and remembering him fighting Reeves last week.

Getting Heinen going would be huge for secondary offense.
Not specifically picking on you, but Heinen has been a machine all season. He's been going. He's been their 5th best forward after the top line and Coyle.

Plenty of people were crying last night without head trauma. I wouldn’t point to that as anything other than he hit a guy who was motionless and bleeding out on the ice before getting stretchered off. That’s enough to fuck anyone up.

I mean, I think Backes' concussion history is likely enough to worry about this latest event. It's why him taking on a scrappier role last year was a bad idea. If a neurologist were honest with him, he might be told to hang 'em up.
