If a casual observer didn't know that number 20 on the Celtics player was previously an all star, they'd wonder why he was even getting court time. Hayward currently is doing pretty much everything poorly at both ends.

Kyrie initiates as much interior contact as any guard and gets nothing.
My theory on this is that he is so herky-jerky and tries to elude contact on some of his drives that the refs tend hold on to their whistles because he is so tough to officiate. Contrast him with someone like Harden who drives with the sole intention of drawing contact. Of course, others here will argue its because Brad brings the officials banana bread and coffee before games. A pool, a pond...

They do look a lot better tonight. I’m loving the paint touches...still can’t hit the broad side of a barn from deep though.

He also makes more wild layups than anybody, so he doesn’t get the same “I’ll blow the whistle when the shot misses” fouls.

That half is why Tatum will be an efficient 20+ ppg assassin. Unstoppable as long as he keeps the handle tight. So freaking long and rangy.

Just caught up on the DVR. Lot to like about that first half. Seemed much more aggressive, and Smart and Rozier making a few shots was just what they needed.

Of course, 2 free throws (on Jaylen's dunk attempt) was all we could muster once again. The Hornets had 6, FWIW. I feel like the Celtics are playing in a completely different version of the NBA than everyone else. They and their opponents just must play the least physical brand of basketball ever invented.

Jaylen Brown is the fucking nails when he's driving to the hoop like this. Holy shit.

That foul they just called on Jaylen is the call our guys never get. The drive on the baseline that Jaylen had earlier, he got hit in the body twice just like that, and he played through it and got a layup, but we never get that whistle. EVER.

Fouls are now 14-6.

Brad needs to call them out like Walton did. The one thing about Brad that bugs me.

I know scoring is up because the shot clock, but what’s with the defense?

Celtics have been to the charity stripe just five times through three quarters. Seems like they don’t draw many fouls.
