Flyers coming to the Garden Thursday night at 7:00 as the Bs try to pick up their 15th win against only 2 losses (and move to 10-0 at home).

This team is way too much fun for me to not be able to watch them for 3 days.

PP1: McAvoy, Pastrnak, Marchand, Bergeron, DeBrusk
PP2: Lindholm, Krejci, Hall, Zacha, Foligno
Hopefully Montgomery will give these 2 PP squads a chance to click. I like having at least 1 D on each squad. Lindholm feeding Krejci for 1 timers, Zacha in the bumper and Hall in the Marchand spot should provide good opportunities for the 2nd squad.

[Edit: Steve Conroy says they’re running out the 5 F PP for 5-3. That‘s ok, much lower risk of short handed breakaways in that situation.]

Fluto also reports that Smith is the extra forward today and doesn’t mention Kinkaid, only Ullmark and Swayman.

Do you start Sway against a weaker Flyers team to ease him back in, as much as you can in the NHL, or do you just continue to ride the hot hand?

I wouldn’t. Chicago is a similar caliber team on Saturday, it’s a home game. Plus it gives Swayman a couple extra practices and gives Ullmark three days off before the Tampa & Florida trip.

306, row 14
Stralman going in for Zboril, Ullmark in net.

(I'd start Swayman for both games this week but alas)

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Hall - Krejci - DeBrusk
Frederic - Coyle - Zacha
Foligno - Nosek - Greer

Grzelyck - McAvoy
Lindholm - Clifton
Stralman - Carlo

Ullmark

Probably best that his 1st goalie hug happen as the backup. ;)

That seems like a weak tripping call. Can’t swing at the puck, hit it; and then hit a guys skates?

Terrible period, so many turnovers. Bad passing. It's quickly becoming a pattern. Ully only reason they aren't getting run out of the barn.

Now that I say that they'll come out like a house on fire in the 2nd and look completely different lol

The turnovers / defensive zone coverage has been an issue since game 1 of this season. They've been bailed out by good goaltending + scoring. I wish we would see more improvement in the defensive end...that's the type of thing that will drive you mad in the playoffs.

The ice being so bad really pisses me off.

Nice sequence started by good back check and forecheck by Jake.

Having both Mcavoy and Lindholm locked in through the end of the decade is pretty sweet

89 seconds of fresh ice on the kill isn’t exactly how I want to start the third, but it really felt like Philly was gonna even the score right before the intermission
