We have a rested bullpen and a great offense. 3 more runs in 6 innings is hardly out of reach. Screw it and go score.
I know it's hard to believe but there are actually 7 innings left. I had to look it up, but it's true.

Curious if everyone that thinks Sale is done watched him pitch this year before today? Maybe he's not CHRIS SALE anymore, but the guy that made his first 8 starts this year was a perfectly fine major league pitcher.

100%. I’m as big a fan of his as anyone, and he should 100% be starting.
Just don’t understand looking at what he’s done and what ERod has done and not going Houck. Sale sucks, but he’s your “ace” so I guess he has to pitch one of these games. But such a predictable outcome from both.

He's coming back from TJ. It was probably a lot to expect him to be himself at any point this year. But maybe Houck should have started instead.

I know when you're getting beat you always think the other team is the best team in the world, but this Rays team really seems to get what they need.

Disagree. While those were all bad signings, they at least had promise and upside when they were inked.
no way. All of those signings were bad the minute they were signed. What was the upside of Sandoval, a 2.5 WAR player that wasn't going to age gracefully? Castillo might have amounted to Ellsbury without the speed (which is to say, at best a league average player)? All of those contracts were garbage. Sale is at least a good pitcher if the contract works. The contract didn't work. But he had upside, and they traded Kopech and Moncada for him, so it made sense.

Those signings were all like the exact opposite of what a reasonable FO does

A rookie, with luck, showing more than the $30 million fraud for the Sox. Fuck Sale

But Sale never shakes any call off and is famous for that. You can certainly blame Sale for not trying to call his own game and throwing a lousy FB, but Vaz had no reason to expect the FB would suddenly get better.
Not really worth a prolonged debate, but one of those guys is a workaday catcher who's making an honest, if not particularly distinguished living in the game, and the other is a rich-as-Croesus rotation ace with the sufficient courage of his convictions to shred an entire team's baseball uniforms when they aren't to his liking. I know who I'm holding responsible here.
