13-3 run by the Raps to start the fourth. It looks like Mazzulla wanted to see if he could play small, but if he just played Kabengele instead of Grant Williams or instead of Derrick White Toronto wouldn’t have gotten all those easy baskets.

It's only preseason, but it would be a shame for the C's to lose this game after dominating the Raptors for the first three quarters.

I guess they wanted to give Pritchard some minutes, but I would’ve loved to have seen JD Davison in this game for much of the fourth.

Pretty sure Toronto has scored on every one of its fourth-quarter possessions.

JustinJohnson is useless, as is Thomas. They just played their way to the G League.

Pritchard‘s defense getting badly exploited

Kabengele getting coached up by the entire Celtics rotation after launching a three

If PP and Hauser are on the floor together, they'd have to shoot about 112% from the field to offset their defense.

The third/fourth string gave up 38 points in the fourth quarter.

Pritchard -19 so far

From what I have seen, Hauser has been credible on defense. Often his man has had to take a long two pointer, which is about all you can ask of Hauser on defense.

Hauser and Pritchard can’t play with two other guys who are horrible defenders. Especially when those two other guys are terrible offensively too.

So on the court right now we have 2 cuts, 1 of our 2 ways, our 10th man sniper and our 15th who should never see meaningful minutes, correct?

No. Both Hauser and Pritchard are in the rotation to start the season. They are the 9th and 10th healthy players on the roster (Blake is 8th). At full health, they may drop to 11/12, although positional factors may make them more like 10/11 with Blake falling to 12, but the bottom line is they both should play regularly pretty much all season.

Thomas and Jackson I don’t see much to be optimistic about. But I’d guess they are competing for the same roster spot, with Vonleh and Kornet likely rounding out the 15, not both getting cut.

Pritchard -25 17/4/5 with zero turnovers. He got taken apart by Jeff Dowtin, who was 5-5 on short jumpers.

Thomas and Jackson better not sign any leases.

On this team? Hauser yes, but unless there is an injury I don't see PP getting too many minutes. It's not a knock on him, there are just too many better options to me ahead of him.
PP played 1000 minutes last season and was the 8th man in the playoffs. His shooting will always get him minutes

It's the pre-season, nothing to get too worked up about

I admit I was looking at it with a healthy TL, and I would say that Kornet is probably ahead of PP too. The biggest thing I felt that PP gave them last season was shooting, and if Hauser can translate what he's doing in the preseason, he offers arguably better shooting with less of a defensive falloff. And as long as MS, MB and DW are healthy, they also provide the ball handling with plus D. Now keeping everyone healthy is a different story...

PP is going to struggle to break into the PG rotation with White and Brogdon ahead of him. I’m a big PP fan and I’m rooting for him but I don’t see many minutes for him until the inevitable injury to one of Smart, White, or Brogdon.

As long as they don't need to play guys who won't be on the roster in a few weeks this team should be pretty good
