Whoa.

I hope they knew what was Krejcis outlook before making that deal
Honestly, even if they didn’t, Studnicka was never going to crack this team. He’s been a hot prospect among fans for half a decade now, and he’s barely played in the NHL. They just didn’t rate him all that much.

Would have liked a little something from Frederic who was standing there watching Smith get hit like that

Have to hope for good news on 46, but otherwise this is as good a start to the season as we could have possibly hoped for.

Watched the highlights. Still a bit too adventurous in their own end, but Swayman picked up the slack early. Also wanted to call out DeBrusk's effort on Marchand's 2nd goal—felt like he won more net-front puck battles in that moment before the goal than the entire team did for all of last year.

Hope Krejci is okay.

Few thoughts from 328

- Marchand was everywhere - a step off on sync with Bergeron / DeBrusk (better with Pastrnak when he got some shifts there) - but yeah, he guuu
- Mentioned it to TFP mid-game but I have to admit, Forbort has been more than solid. I don't know if it's a slightly looser in-zone defensive system (to the eye - guys flying the zone to corral chip outs, much quicker ups overall) that makes his stay-at-home skillset more valuable than in a more structured system like Cassidy's, but I am glad to be wrong on his usefulness so far this year
- Fire Frederic into the sun. I get that the Studnicka return is good value, but I hate not giving him a look under Montgomery in some NHL games
- Stating the obvious but huge game for Swayman, stayed low and found a lot of squirrely pucks to get faceoffs
- Foligno still sucks even though he's been better this year, I will die on this hill

Unless Frederic was under some “Don’t fight” edict once things got out of hand, WTF is he doing in the roster?

I was going to respond earlier to the questions of "What does Frederic do well?" -- 'Take punches to the face'. But apparently, he isn't willing to do that anymore...
