It's been 5 games with the new coach that Tatum just had a pretty big say in choosing and his 5 year extension just started a few weeks ago. Maybe give it a little time. It’s only a matter of time before Tatum forces his way out of Boston. This team is trending in the wrong direction.
Beal was 7/25 from the field and 0/6 from deep, and we lost at home to the Wizards.Still maddening. Washington wasn’t anything special, Beal totally sucked, and they can’t beat them at home. If they played with purpose for more than 2 minute stretches they win going away. I know it’s only five games but I feel like I’m watching the same .500 team as last year.
Hey, the coach is new so once he gets 20-25 games under his belt, our best player is going to magically stop whining about everything. Or something.I understand it's early and we have a new coach with new pieces but we've been watching the same movie for over a year now. Mannix on the postgame is killing their effort and he's 100% right.
Seems like every guy the Celtics acquire ends up being a JAG. At some point, to make the leap, JT and JB gotta make other guys around then better.Richardson seems like the ultimate JAG at this point.
Refs hate Tatum like few other famous players. He needs to do something different.
Seems like Tatum and Brown both have to be at least good to win. A bad game by either is hard to overcome with no other real options for volume scoring. Maybe Schroder can steal a game or two.
Marcus can’t get to the hoop anymore and isn’t a good enough 3-point shooter to be dangerous at all now.
You have to prove you can turn it on before treating the regular season like practice.
Guy makes the right play like 95% of the time, it’s amazing. Wish it rubbed off more. This team costs itself several wins a year with unforced turnovers.Al looks great. Scoring, rebounding, passing, even blocking shots. One of the few bright spots of the early season.
Or they need to stop acquiring jags. Who have they acquired since JT and JB have been fully developed that wasn't a JAG? Kyrie and Hayward were around in the early days. Hayward was always injured and Kyrie was a head case.Seems like every guy the Celtics acquire ends up being a JAG. At some point, to make the leap, JT and JB gotta make other guys around then better.
The most disheartening thing is that nothing the team does looks intentional. The good stretches are too often Tatum or Brown taking over, which is fine but even when you see it you know it's not sustainable. So often players are confused on defense, or a lineup is clearly not working, or you can see that X or Y isn't working but the team hasn't caught on yet.Definitely looks like the same movie.
