If you think of the Poitras line as the 2nd line and the Coyle line as the 3rd it’s not that bad.
Johnson is cooked, but i still think he's better than Jones given the roster construction
Eh, Johnson would be a waste of a contract. Give Jones a little rope, then try a kid, then make a trade.
I'd rather see Lysell up there agreed. But Jones has shown absolutely nothing in his career that says he's a top 6 forward. Johnson at least kind of has in the past. Do I think he's the solution? No, but a better one than Jones IMO. Johnson is only money if they aren't willing to try a kid up there at least. But also it's still rearranging deck chairs on the titanic haha
They need to call Lysell up, play him Poitras and see if they can develop into 2/3rds of a top 6 line. Coyle & Marchard and their ages and after a bunch of surgeries are really third liners at this point.

I feel like they are trying to play dump and forecheck style hockey but they don’t have the speed to pull that off. I don’t think they are a slow team, but trying to play dump and forecheck hockey without elite speed and you look like this. It’s the wrong style given the personal and the coach.
Honest question, did they actually have training camp this year? Because they play like they’ve never played with each other.
Marchand really should have started the season on IR. He’s obviously not himself after not being able to train normally this summer.
It should be. Team wasn’t ready to play and it looks like no one knows what the fuck they are doing out there.

I wanted him gone after the playoff collapse two years ago. I'm just assuming management won't admit their mistake by keeping him on until it's to late
They just committed $150 million in contracts. The coach who doesn’t have a contract next year ain’t making it to Christmas if this team is not comfortably in a playoff spot.
Not sure why they brought him back either. If you were going to fire him if they lost to Toronto, then you already made a decision on him. If you can’t confidently extend the guy going into his walk year, time for someone else.
Which is why I'm worried they're going to keep him on too long because they don't want to admit they screwed up by not canning him in the off-season like they should have.
I really don’t think you need to worry about that IMO. They’re probably all getting canned if they don’t make the playoffs. They’ll be more worried about that then looking bad on a lame duck coach.
I really hope so. Honestly in a perfect world he'll be gone in a couple weeks if they continue to look like this.
