Fresh off his first game victory Grz is ensconced on the first pair.

We don’t know who’s in the net yet but whomever it is, I’m sure that they’ll have earned a hug.

Smith’s back on 3L ready to join the balanced scoring parade.

Score early, score often.

The Wild won their first game last night so they got that out of the way. They can strive for that elusive 2nd win against the Habs.

Shut down Kirill and the gang.

Keep it rolling.

Win.

I grew up in Minnesota when they didn't have a team so I'll always have a soft spot for the Wild...but not today. I'd like to see Swayman put together a good performance to get his confidence back. PP getting their entrances going would be nice to see as well.

Swayman on the bench where he belongs today

Any reason for that aside from his early poor performances? I know he's gotten off to a slow start but last season they had a pretty steady Ulmark/Swayman rotation. At some point he's going to have to get his confidence back - would prefer they try that at home in front of a bad team.

Ully has been fantastic this year and stole them a 2nd point last game. It should he his net until he falters or needs a breather. Swayman has been absolutely horrific. The Wild are not a horrible offensive team, they have been quite good. Their issue has been goaltending/defensive structure.

Agree that it's his net but you can't have him playing 70% of starts, even if it is his net. Swayman is going to have to become a regular part of the rotation whether we like it or not. He's a good goalie, we saw it last season, he just needs to get back on track and that's not going to happen sitting on the bench. I'm guessing we'll see him next game vs. Dallas.

Good stop on that wraparound by Ullmark... but the D again looked confused as to who was supposed to cover who to let it develop so easily...

We know the D will be better when Charlie is back. Also hoping all D take a step forward as they learn Monty's system. Hard for me to imagine Monty having a D core that repeatedly makes mistakes, turns the puck over, gets caught in the offensive zone.

DeBrusk's board play has been his most improved area. Last year he'd get beat in almost all the board battles. He seems to be coming out of them with the puck the majority of the time this year. That's huge considering who his line mates are.

Yeah. Just weird to see them so out of sorts as often as they have been (been very lucky they haven't paid more for it). Particularly veteran guys. But hopefully it's just a blip and they settle in...

He's a league average goalie which is all we've seen and the stats bear it out. He was -2.7 XGa last year with an HDC .868 he's basically an average goalie. Until he shows otherwise it's Ully's net. Unless he starts to show he can make the saves to win games it should be a 65/35 split. I love the kid and his attitude and work ethic (I live in Alaska they love him here too) but the holes in his game are glaring and obvious. That being said I think he'll improve, but he has yet to show it.

I'd be fine with a 65/35 split. Just don't want Ulmark, if he is our true number 1, to get worn out before the playoffs.

Now that was a really nice transition... didn't pay off, but great puck movement.

edit -apparently my stream is way behind...

Back to the PP. Let's get it going boys - with this much offensive talent the PP needs to start producing chances.

PP still an issue. They desperately need Chuckie and Marchy back
Even when they get in the zone the passing is sloppy, and it seems like every time they get a shot on net they get beat when the rebound goes into the corner.

Not a single skater for the Wild paid any attention to the puck after the shot block. They all went in the opposite direction. That'll be a fun video session...

The 5 on 5 before it was amazing sustained pressure. Then PP and it all falls apart. I wonder if they are just trying to overdo it on the PP for a perfect goal...
That's my feeling. A lot of passes through the middle. The Pasta one-timer is a little too choreographed. I'm no coach but I've always preferred getting it to the point, finding a shooting lane, and putting it on net looking for a tip/rebound.

Soft call on Krejci there
Considering other stuff not called already in this game... it's a weird one to pick as teh moment. Particularly when Frederic got roughed up at the goalie after he didn't even touch Fleury... and the ref watched it all in front of him and did nothing.

Wow - Nosek took a hard one there. Like him making the move to the front when he could have taken the easy route with a bad angle shot.
