Of course they can win two in a row in Houston. Who knows what to expect, but they’ve been counted out a lot this year and bounced back, just need to do it once more.

That was fun while it lasted. Can't imagine the Red Sox being able to win 2 on the road at Houston.
Eh, I think it's probably a long shot, but it's easy to imagine.

The Eovaldi Garcia matchup leans our way, and Urquidy or Odorizzi vs. Rodriguez is probably favorable, too. Sale gave us length tonight, perhaps too much, so the good half of the pen will be plenty rested.

We need the offense to wake back up, but we could totally pull it off.

These last 2 games are deflating but at the same time going into the 8th last night we had a lead. It's been a shitty last 9 innings or so but we have a day off tomorrow to find the bats again and get over this mini-slump.

This series isn't over yet. Its tough but we knocked the Astros around for 2 games already.

If the Red Sox can score 5 next frame you fuckers can ban the absolute SHIT out of my account. Just really light it up good. Scramble my password and block the ol’ IP.

The pitching matchups favor Boston. But if the bats don’t wake up it won’t make a fucking difference.

Bah. I mean, how much more evidence do you need that what happened in a prior game has no impact on what will happen in the next. The Astros just demonstrated it and won two in Fenway. There is no reason we can't do it too.

We aren't favorites to win the series now. Clearly. It's harder to win 2 of 2 than 1 of 2. But the Sox can beat this team. Need a timely hit and some luck maybe but win on Friday and then see what's what.

I've crunched the numbers and if we hit 2 grand slams between now and the end of the game I reckon we could win.

Many years ago, we were down 7 in the 7th in a playoff game versus the Rays.
By random fate, I posted something about this song, and the Sox made a terrific comeback.
Worth a try again...
(I still have faith in this team and this series no matter what happens today.)

I mean, we have all seen this team do some crazy shit in our lifetimes, both good and bad. The rest of this series? Who knows? But could anything really be surprising, haven’t seen kind of seen it all?

I will just be bummed when it’s over, either way.

I can take them losing in the Alcs, I didn't think they'd get here. I just don't want to see them go out with a whimper.

And how about the defense? That looks post ASB bad again. I can much easier imagine we're done. If they surprise me - then awesome, but I won't be placing any bets on an Astros home collapse. Everything after beating the MFY was gravy to me.

Yes I think an emotional response to what Cora perceived to be poor sportsmanship (I don’t agree I think it was awesome) is different than something a manager would say in a press conference.

I just think overall Cora is a good manager and get a little bummed at the negativity. But it’s a game thread so I will shut up now.

Go Sox.

He probably didn't want to replace Renfroe with Santana in a game that looked like it had a good chance to go extra innings. You can argue for replacing Vaz, but he obviously has a different opinion of Vaz than most of this board does and wanted him behind the plate if the game was going to maybe go long.
I think that’s a reasonable explanation.
