10/18 - ALCS Game 3

It's hard to believe this is the same eRod we watched throughout the season. It's hard to believe it's the same team...
This is the team that you get combining April/May JD, X, and Devers with second half Kike and Renfroe plus peak Verdugo. I've been wondering what it would look like if the whole offense clicked at the same time. This is what it looks like.

Crazy that it's actually happening and in the postseason no less. How did this team drop 2 of 3 to Baltimore less than a month ago?

Bonus points to Chaim knowing he would be facing Dusty Baker in the playoffs. It’s a bye.
He has like 2 pitchers that can get anyone out right now, and they're both 1 inning relievers, Sox are killing everyone else no matter who he uses and he's down his 3 top starters including Verlander.

Smoltz sounds like he's really into coach mumbo jumbo nonsense.
Based on how he pitched I would have guessed he was really sophisticated about the analytics---but that is clearly not the case.

Wonder if he will be the last "jock" who doesn't understand numbers who is in that role, at least solo? The trend in front offices is decidedly the other way and TV is doing the analytics broadcast as 'second feed' already....

Smoltz and ARod are just white noise. I drift out, snap back into the room and they're still talking, and I have absolutely no idea what it's about.

The national broadcasters must surely ask them to never stop talking. Dead air is bad for viewer numbers. keep speaking.
totally. Smoltz even worse that ARod if that's possible ....

It's a testament to Cora that this Red Sox team played so stupid during the season, but apparently has turned it around at the right time. Idiocy on the base paths, defensive miscues, just general brain fart syndrome. But now they look like the best team in baseball. Crazy game.

I like when umpires make their calls in sentences. “That ball’s inside”, “No, it’s low and away” and so forth.
