This is the first egregious one in our favor after several against, so while I agree that this was a terrible call and that this kind of enforcement of offside with VAR is a disaster, it’s a variable in the game right now and if it breaks against your side this theme then so be it. We’ve been fucked by it enough then if one goes in our favor I’ll take it.

LFC fans can say the refs handed us a point but if they (or ManU fans) want to cry about ref bias against them, lol boo boo.
Well, I can think of one that went in your favor :)

When did City become such cheap shots? Here is a list the cheap crap I saw in one 10 minute period - trip and step on, hooked the neck to slow the player down, kick to the back of the knee, two handed shove after pass already gone, two handed shove after player out of bounds already, obstruction with knee up and forearms out, shirt pull and kick to ankles.

Richarlison is a savvy Dark Arts player. The stats might not bear him out as a headhunter, but you need only watch him play to see him switch on. He loves clipping ankles and taking little shots after the ball has gone. He’s a fake enforcer in the Otamendi mold where he’ll make hard challenges and fake injury on love taps.

That’s closer to “pest” than “thug.”

I realize I bitch about this every single week, but it’s so jarring to watch Peacock back to back with anything else. I feel like I’m watching a YouTube highlight video of early 2000’s footage rendered on a chrome book.

Why is there so much talk of Maguires difficulties? The red card in international football? Who cares. I know all the legal stuff from before season but that’s mostly baked now right?

I haven’t been impressed with him at all. Positioning, passing, decision making... They aren’t always “bad,” but they haven’t touched the level of his fee or hype. It’s hard to think Leicester aren’t far better off with their current lineup and cash in hand.

I think its really the fee. He is a little like Pepe in that regard, a player with some talents but also some weaknesses who belongs on a top six side but isn't really top class and should never have been sold for that amount. If he was bought for 30-40m then nobody would really talk about him.

What on earth is the ref thinking he sees there? Arguably the Juve player makes the safer play there you’d have a hard time convincing me that’s a yellow.
Saint Maximin needs out of this Newcastle side. I’d love to see him in a team with more attacking intent

If Pawson gives this as a penalty then I just don’t know what to do about this sport anymore

edit: of course he does. I just can’t do this to myself anymore. Turning it off im a fool for watching this much. It’s WWE

Thank fuck for that epic save.

This sport is fucking broken. Horribly, horribly broken.

Whwn was the last time we saw referees destroy so many outcomes?

You shut your face! We aren't allowed even one nice thing?!
you deserved the sale to rich ownership that was stolen from you by a bunch of owners who then went on to try to close the league. Had that happened you could have surrounded him with more talent but now you’re Steve Bruce’ing the league and it’s a dire watch

California. Duh.
Barca and Real both lose. La Liga sides have played between 3 and 6 games so far, and the only team without a loss yet is...Atletico.

I’ll take that (though I just now saw the actual penalty. I would have been pissed if that went the other way)

I literally thought about 30 seconds before that goal that Palace would be really lucky to come away with three points from this game.

Dunk goes full Pickford on Cahill's legs and gets a straight red, should be an interesting finish with Benteke on now

This Son goal/Kane assist thing is crazy. Kane is on pace to set the EPL record for assists and they will all be to Son.

Reguilon is awesome. Reggie the Rocket.
West Ham’s defending has been atrocious but Ben Davies just doesn’t make that kind of pass into the box. Kane has been dying for that kind of service.

So does David Moyes just give off a field of absolutely shittiness?

With Moyes at the stadium, West Ham are an aggregate 1-7 against ARS/TOT/NEW
With Moyes at home West Ham are aggregate 7-0 against WOL/LEI

Something I just learned watching the Schalke - Union Berlin match...Loris Karius is on loan at Union now (and on the bench).

I can't believe that. I literally can't comprehend it. Down 3 with seven minutes left, and a wonderstrike for the leveling goal in the last thirty seconds of stoppage time.

I just can't.

Jose blew it by going defensive when Spurs went up 3-0 and seemed to be scoring at will.

Hard to think we will see a better goal this season than that Lanzini strike.

somewhere some Spurs fan(s) who walked away from the game at 80', figuring it was in the bag, is going to look at his phone to get the final, and.... it won't be pretty.

I was going to switch to the Pats at 1 pm with the game in hand but decided to watch till the finish because I wanted to see Bale. Not sure what would have been more frustrating.

Hard to think we will see a better goal this season ever than that Lanzini strike.
FTFY

The comparable that comes to mind is Kompany's goal for City when they were desperately hanging on for the final two seasons ago - from roughly the same spot on the pitch, I think? And equally as unlikely.
