I will be in Fenway Park for Game 4 (Right Field Roof Box) and I am officially ordering a Code R.E.D. (Rays Elimination Day).

LFG! Keep your Sox on!

Erod needs to step us and give us five or six innings like Evo.
If he can't, I don't see how they avoid using Barnes, especially if Robles is still sick. I'd like to see Barnes get an early inning against the bottom of the order than to find themselves in a position in which they're forced to use him late.

So who's starting for the Rays?
I can't even take a guess other than maybe they'll try to get 8-10 guys about an inning each. Baseball is a funny sport and anything can happen, but I can't help but feel like the Rays are up shit's creek with regard to their pitching staff.

The Sox may have to put some pitcher ( or two?) on the IL allowing them to bring in Darwinson and perhaps Seabold? Some fresh arms. I realize that marries you to the call-ups for the next series but none of that will matter if you don't get there.

Is that completely crazy?

I have to say, watching this team is just about getting me to rediscover my love for baseball. I love how a team can look like complete shit during a critical late September series against a glorified AAA team, then win a one game playoff and be up 2-1 in the ALDS against the best team in the AL two weeks later. You don't get that in other sports. I hope for a 1-2-3 top of the first, because tonight's post-marathon post-walk off crowd is going to be nuts out of the gate.

Yes this is crazy. They had an offday prior to yesterdays game, and in yesterdays game Taylor threw 9 pitches, Braiser 11, Davis 2, Whitlock 17, Ottavino, Perez and Barnes didn't throw. You want to sabotage the roster because Nate, Nick and maybe Hansel are unavailable? C'mon guy.

Pivetta was seeing hard contact in that final inning of work and I wouldn't have run him out there for the next inning, but much like Pedro, Wakefield and others, he gave the team serious bullpen saving innings, and the Sox go into tomorrow with a bullpen in marginally better shape than the Rays (who only have Rasmussen, Robertson and maybe Chargois unavail).

I don't think it is completely crazy, but it is definitely premature.

They are up in the series against a team that all of the sudden has their own crazy pitching problems. And most games really only go nine innings. For now, figure out where you can get 27 outs from what you've got and go from there. The 'break glass in case of emergency' move is both not for today and not really something we can see from the outside. From what seems apparent, only Eovaldi and Pivetta are unable to go tonight, even if some guys likely can't go for long.

If he can't, it may be Martin Perez's world. And we'll just be living in it.

But if Robles truly is ill, this might make sense

I thought I heard last night on EEI when I was driving home that it was McHugh since the other option had been using Patino which went out the window like the Sox and Pivetta.

Edit - it probably doesn't mean Patino isn't available but probably not going to throw him out there as an opener.

I’m not sure about anyone else in here, but I, for one, do not want to see that fucking dump down in St. Petersburg again this year unless it’s a replay of JDM’s 3-run HR from game 2.

Win tonight. That is all.

McClanahan pitched 5 innings on Thursday, and looked real good doing so. If he can give them the same or even 3 more outs, the Rays pitching situation won't be so dire. I think the Rays pitching situation is being made out to be worse than it is, but if McC gets pulled early then it's a whole different story.

Minus a slight lull during the beginning of extra innings the crowd was outstanding last night. Keep it going tonight!

Men’s marathon leader has just passed Kenmore. Looks lighter crowd than usual. Maybe late game yesterday kept it down. Too bad not same time like on Pats day

Will be in the park again tonight. Having witnessed firsthand the Boone game and the deciding game of the sweep to the Indians in ‘16, I would not mind seeing the Sox eliminate a team.

I know the Rays have a ton of young talent for the future, but what a crushing series loss this would be for an organization having their best season in franchise history. I hope the Sox win and add to the dysfunction of the Rays situation in Tampa.

Well if they lose, won't it not be as good as the loss to the Phanatics?
