right here
pp time was at 34 and corrected to 1:25. So almost a minute before the goal a skate was an inch over the line. What a league.

If Jack brings up the altitude one more fucking time. Holy shit shut the fuck up. I guarantee none of these players will bring up the thin air. They got fucked over by the refs. It happens whatever.

Felt like the inverse of the Coyotes game. B's played their butts off tonight and just didn't have the luck this time. I'm encouraged.

It’s kind of the same old story. The first line is scoring, the rest aren’t. The first line/PP unit has scored 6 of their 9 goals this season.

Outside of Kuhlman the 2nd line has been pretty quiet. Kuhlman is getting chances but not finishing. They are also typically breakaways or him chasing down loose pucks and it’s one and done and they aren’t controlling the puck. I think part of their issues is Krejci missed most of camp so he’s behind everyone else and still getting up to game shape/speed. I think once Krejci gets going they’ll get the offense rolling better. Coyle and Heinen have been good but carrying around anchors with Backes and Ritchie. I think they’ll have Bjork up fairly quick (after ~10 AHL games if he keeps producing) if Backes and Ritchie can’t hold down that spot. The 4th line is the 4th line. They chipped in with the Krug goal in Vegas and are basically breaking even.

I guess it would be too much to ask for review to just be limited to whether the puck is in or not.

Why is it that every time some team gets hosed by something we have to add it to the pile of crap subject to review?

All of these leagues are way too reactionary.

They need to gas goalie interference reviews. I’ve said that since day 1. It is too subjective and the standard changes from game to game. I don’t know how they waive the goal off last night but allowed the Auston Matthews goal in game 5 last year.

Offside they made a mountain out of a mole hill. They wanted to correct plays like the Duchene goal but instead we get the ticky tack calls like last night where by the letter of the law Pastrnak was offside. But it was by an inch at most, had no impact on the play, and the goal was 51 seconds later when all parties had ample time to recover. They want to get rid of the blatant ones but it is a black and white rule so they have to call the ticky tack ones.

The only way around it is to treat reviews like the NFL appears to be treating the PI challenges. Stick with the call on the ice unless it is “clear and obvious.” That rule is in name only and they aren’t making changes on review by the letter of the law. The problem is they try to take as much subjectivity out of calls as they can so that will never happen.

I've said it 100 times. Force reviews to be 60 seconds only in full speed. No slo mo allowed. If it's not quickly obvious at full speed, call on the ice stands. Keep the penalties for unsuccessful challenges.

That accomplishes what they want without the ticky tack results.

If they are going to insist on offside challenges, in addition to clear and obvious and full speed review it has to be time capped. If more than 10 seconds have passed once the puck has crossed the blue line then no challenge should be allowed.

I think the coach should have to make that challenge in real time. No waiting to see what happens at the end of the play - punch your "offsides" challenge buzzer within 15 seconds of zone entry and then when play stops, we'll look. If it wasn't egregious enough in real time for you to challenge, then you can fuck right off.

I just don't see how anyone can make an argument in anything approaching good faith that this is ok - that it's ok to overturn a goal 51 seconds after a missed offsides. How is this better hockey?
