Beautiful reaction at Selhurst for Gallagher. Wonder how much he thinks he should have stayed

He really does look like a completely different player. Much more dynamic , energetic and confident. I never much rated him at City but he’s turned into a really good player.
I think he was suffocated at City.. they had more talent at forward than they needed so he couldn’t roam.. Arsenal let him basically let him run wherever.. also being the true up top player has to give him some confidence.

It fun to watch Kepa now because I keep thinking, “well, Slonina can do that…”

I disagree. He was given plenty of opportunity and freedom he just lost that flair that really puts defenders off and creates space. He was constantly getting mauled at City. He’s terrifying defenders again and it helps him get chances off. I think his finishing is still a little iffy and this is mostly form but I’m just happy to see him playing so confidently.

It’s so infuriating that Pulisic didn’t move this summer.

Trent’s mentality is completely broken. Klopp was protesting too hard this week. Trent needs to be rebuilt.

Probably fortunate for Palace that Silva didn’t get the red card, given their typical results against 10 men.

Great, now Clyne going off in a brace on a stretcher. Who can come on with no Andersen or Richards?

Looks like it is Tomkins. First appearance in 10 months.

I’ll defer to you since you’ve watched a lot more of city.. I just didn’t see him being the true number 9 there, but I didn’t really concentrate on watching him or city over the last few years like you have.

Expecting Diaz for Carvalho right away. Sadly there’s not much they can do about the back 4.

At 60 I’d get Elliot on for Henderson. It would have been nice if Fabinho had returned from Brazil. There’s some guy running around out there with his name on the back.

After 50 minutes of boring sloppy scoreless football a game breaks out, Toffees concede a terrible goal and then beautiful finishes by Coady and McNeil all within 5’

Webster with his Maradona hand of God tribute own goal. This might be exactly what Liverpool needed if they go on to win.

Liverpool’s back four is having a contest of who can play the worst ball short of its target. It’s highly competitive unfortunately.

Holy fuck Gallagher with a beauty for his first ever Chelsea goal to drive a stake through Palace’s heart in the 90th minute.

RDZ looks like he slotted right in to Potter's spot, and even opened up the attack a bit. My biggest fear was that the club wouldn't respond to a new voice after Potter left so abruptly. I have to think that's been answered.

Brighton absolutely deserved all three points. Originally calling him Virgil van Disney was in jest, but guy looks like a shadow of his old self

It had to help to have a few weeks for all of this to shake out. Between the Queen and the international break, Brighton hadn't played since Sept. 4. And we're seven weeks from the World Cup; another very disrupted season.

Trossard was fantastic, but the cynic in me kept thinking about how he may be gone in January. The Athletic reported this week (no link; I don't subscribe) that BHA wants to lock down Trossard and Mac Allister, both of whom are out of contract at the end of the season. I assume that's Naylor (formerly of the Argus) reporting that and his stuff tends to be good, but man, it's tough rooting for a smaller club when the vultures circle.

Agreed. Naylor has all kinds of connections, so I'd definitely assume he has some inside info. Losing any of Trossard, Mac Allister or Gross in-season would be a gut punch. I really hope Tony Bloom is keeping things moving behind the scenes (last I heard he was in Vegas at the final table of some poker tournament, but I assume he has the right people on it). Mac Allister in particular could have a great World Cup and be an insta-target in January. For that matter, Mitoma could too.

Did Rebecca Lowe really say that Moyes job is in danger? Seriously?

You're a London team that doesn't back Moyes with enough signings to get them into a legit top 4 team after he scraps into the top 6?

Just leaving this here.

Without Calvert Lewin and with Gordon on the bench today (illness), the attack is stll a little light. But the midfield has gone from one of the weakest in the league to potentially among the handful of strongest, back four plus Pickford have been solid, looks like we have some depth, and even with a couple of old hands the average age of the XI is among the youngest. Most importantly Frank the players and the fans are 100% all in snd it’s- strange to say- a really good positive feeling around this club.

Exactly like his Everton career.

When Everton beat WH last week, I saw a lot of the WH fan chatter. It sounds like the Everton fans' complaints about Moyes - he keeps the players shackled, doesn't let them open up etc, why are the tactics so boring when we have some dynamic players etc. etc. I think there's something to it. WH were less than the sum of their parts over the 90'. Everton deserved the win but WH were dull.

Moyes' sides are the hard-to-break-down overachievers. Kind of a more successful and better attacking Big Sam style. He hasn't been able to progress past that. Does he have the horses? Scamacca scored yesterday. Bowen, Antonio, etc.

He can pass too apparently
The scariest part for me is that you can still see the parts of his game he could work on and he appears to have the work ethic for it.

Imagine all this with an even cleaner first touch and a few years familiarity with Pep ball.
