Apparently Klay Thompson's 'great defense' is a foul the other way.. guy had two hands on Kyrie all f'in game... Celts outplayed the Warriors in the second half only to have the refs give the other team the game at home.

Yeah based on the offensive decision-making and turnovers down the stretch, I could whine about the officiating but the C's also made their own bed

This is one the fucking should have won. Too much hero ball from Kyrie. If he makes even a tiny effort to occasionally involve Tatum in the 4th quarter, they win this.

The C's have hung with or beaten the Warriors like the last 7 times they've played. Tough loss, but they know they belong. And so do the Warriors.

Celtics made a lot of bad mistakes in the 4th but played really well. Came down to execution and we just didn’t execute well enough when it mattered. Kyrie certainly got caught trying to do too much and Morris had a bit of a rough night.

It’s funny how grade school coaches will make sure you box out the shooter but NBA coaches won’t.

Zero....except for the two non-calls on the penetration and Klay having his arm chopped off while not being allowed to complete his follow through. Are al you guys watching the same replay?
Did you see Kyrie get shoved like two plays before that?

edit: do you REALLY think that the free throw disparity in this game was deserved??? like REALLY?

Klay Thompson is allowed to play so physical on defense, meanwhile Jaylen is getting called for fouls for breathing on people. It's a fucking joke. Kyrie had no fucking chance when guys are allowed to mug him all over the court.

Bullshit. Horford was beastly, Tatum took meh shots that quarter. Kyrie was great except for the 3 TO.

Awesome game - very happy with it except for the final result. This team is going to finals and giving them a good matchup.

Forget boxing out. Why doesn't Brad have 4 Celtics in the lane on the free throw? Why is Marcus running form half court to get in front of the shooter? Of course he's going to be out of position, he's sprinting 50 feet and trying to time it perfectly. I have no idea why they didn't stack the lane with everyone, and bring Baynes off the bench.

Where was Tatum going on that free throw?
It's Tatum's job to squeeze the guy on the lane. It was Smart's job to run into the lane and box out the FT shooter. He ran in too far, and couldn't body Green when he clanged the FT. Marcus Smart is the one guy on the Celtics who we expect to make the last second defensive play, and he failed to do the most fundamental thing he was supposed to do, which is get a body on the FT shooter.

I wish I could be as confident as others here about winning the East. a lot of shit to fix in three months for that.

I was wondering the same thing. Seems pretty stupid for such a brilliant coach.
