Some of the pitchers who have won games at Fenway Park much more recently than Chris Sale has:
Dan Strailly
Spencer Turnbull
Mike Dunn
Nick Wittgren
Ariel Jurado
Nick Kingham

Sale wouldn’t get more than 3/$75m now. No idea why we signed him to a new deal before seeing whether he still has it.

He is a not so good fifth starter that they committed $145 million to for five years. Brilliant

he completely lost it this inning.

nothing really matters if Mookie is going to be closer to a .800 OPS than a .950-1.000 OPS version of himself and Sale can't unfuck himself

Depending on your definition of "pitcher" the band Phish may also qualify. They certainly ended their performance better than Sale did tonight.

I remember the World Series. Sale missed a start and pitched a good inning against a beaten team to clinch it. His shoulder is hamburger.

S

Sandoval and Hanley did not hamper anything, nor Crawford and Gonzalez.
I'm going to disagree. They got lucky that the Dodgers bailed them out of the latter pair. Sandoval is hampering our ability to add on to the roster this year for sure.

Well he was pretty thoroughly unfucked for a large portion of this year that wasn’t too long ago. His last few starts have sucked but let’s not pretend he hadn’t regained his old form up until about 3 starts ago. Happens to everyone, frustrating as hell but what are you gonna do?

All other 29 teams would like to be in the Sox place in the last 5 years and of course in the last 15.
