You would think this would totally tarnish his reputation but given the merry go round of managers in the EPL, some team will probably hire him because they want a “ name” of a manager. Personally, I think he needs to start managing in the lower leagues, get a team promoted to have any chance in management as far as evolving. I have no idea about his coaching skills but some great coaches are not good managers. The most obvious one for me was Don Howe.
Sheffield United clinched 2nd place in the Championship, so they are joining Burnley in the Premier League next season.
Luton Town is in the top playoff position right now. They have had a crazy couple of decades. They went from being in the Championship in 2006-07 to being relegated 3 years in a row into non-league football, and were still in League Two in 2017-18. Now they're a playoff run away from being in the top division for the first time since 1991-92, the year before the Premier League was formed.
The rest of the playoff chase is crazy. 3rd-6th make it, and only 4 points separate Coventry City in 5th and Swansea City in 12th with 2 games remaining.

Just 30 goals on the campaign too. To be fair, their defense is not terrible but, man, 65 goals combined (for and against) in 32 games. What a snooze.

This fixture was crucial in Everton's fight to stay up last season; Calvert-Lewin and Iwobi combined for an improbable win in stoppage time after Toffees were down to 10. Everton were not good in Doucoure's suspension. His swat at Kane's face might have been the most impactful play of the season, on the downside. A player wo was marginalized by Lampard became the energy source in the middle of Dyche's 4-5-1. His finishing touch has been poor- if he had buried even one or two of his several golden chances we'd be a lot closer to safety - but he's always making things happen. Without him, Dyche tried a 4-4-2 which was a disaster. A loss at Old Trafford was not surprising, but to go to a more attacking formation without anything resembling a PL striker, let alone two, was madness. But trying it in the home game to a struggling Fulham was a bad idea. That was a game that Everton had to get something from and we put in one of the worst performances of the season. Started poorly also at Palace with DCL and Iwobi in a two up top; once Dyche switched back to the 4-5-1, Calvert-Lewin was still too isolated, he never gets enough service, but he troubled the Palace CB's all day. On the clubs' form, looking at it in a vacuum, you'd have to be happy with the point from the 0-0 draw, as Palace had been flying. But a point was not enough, and now we have games with Newcastle, City, and Brighton in the run-in.
It might be as simple as win tonight and stay up, lose tonight and go down.

Playing Gordon would be malpractice on Howe's part. The kid is a headcase at the best of times with a friendly crowd. He'd set a new record for quickest sendoff in history.
Spurs start Forster in goal (yay!), Lenglet at LCB (yay!!), and Perisic at LWB (yay!!! FML). Also Richarlison in for Deki at RW. That shit doesn't make any sense to me, unless Mason sets the team up to play into Kane and Richy's feet and keeps Son on the last defender's shoulder. Danjuma is the logical replacement for the RW-playmaker role. That's an incredibly aggressive attack setup, that when paired with 3 ATB leaves the MF very vulnerable...AGAIN.

This is baaaaad. Players are completely clueless and consequently can't even do basic things like closing down the ball in the defensive third (!) correctly anymore. Perisic is utter dogshit. There's really no reason to play him anymore. Put some academy kids out there for all I care. Richy is frustrating, but he's at least working his ass off. Most of the other players don't even look like they can be bothered to put in a shift. Every attack down Porro's side is dangerous. I don't know how Danjuma doesn't start for this side.

It's getting harder to see how Newcastle don't end up in the Champions' League next year. Eight points up on Villa with a game in hand, 9 points up on Liverpool, and the last 6 fixtures include Leeds, Southampton, and Leicester. It will be *really* interesting to see what they do this summer. This is the 98th percentile outcome for this squad (99th would have been this same PL season plus winning the League Cup); I don't think they are good enough or deep enough to make any kind of impact in the PL next year while also acclimating to Europe. So if the Saudis plan to really fire the money cannon, shit is going to get weird this summer.

That Bournemouth win was a terrible result for Everton. Perhaps even worse than their own loss to Newcastle.

I have to have faith because it’s my club but it’s hard for me to come up with a football - based reason why you’re wrong.
I had a work function today so I didn’t sit and watch. I just caught snippets here and there. So typical - start strong, lots of endeavor, little quality, no luck but not creating any either, and nothing done to capitalize on the few good chances before the dam breaks and the superior side just crushes them.
Similar to Forest hosting Brighton- the difference being that Forest- like every other side- has at least a couple of guys who can score to put you back into it. Calvert Lewin should have had one today, he looks in good enough form that if he’d been healthy they’d be 15-16th, even a handful more goals scattered thru the season would have done it, but they just can’t score.
