West Ham hosts Arsenal to kickoff the weekend’s games.

West Ham with the better of the play in the 1st half - creating lots of opportunities but with no real chances. Arsenal in turn had a few of their own.

Second half West Ham again dominating the game and Declan Rice opened the scoring with an unstoppable blast.

Arsenal look like they are playing in a fog.

West Ham up on, and outplaying Arsenal.

Samir Nasri on a free was a steal, he's carving Arsenal's defense up has the assist on the goal, and could easily have 2 or 3 with a bit better finishing.

Bellerin gets away with a pretty blatant shirt holding to keep Carroll from getting a back post header, Moss is scared to call anything here

Impressive effort defensively from West Ham, they held their line on a handful of would-be goals for Arsenal

TAA went down went down during warm ups, but walked off the pitch in his own. . Looks like Milner is the emergency fill in at RB.

And Fabinho in at CB. Going to be an interesting day in back.

Finally a decent attempt on goal, but Shaqiri heads a foot wide. Brighton is executing their game plan so far.

LOL Brighton supporters with a Bronx cheer for a throw-in award, Friend promptly whistles for half with no added time.

Liverpool need to swap one of Wijnaldum / Henderson for Keïta at half

Yes! I can’t wait to hear about it!

Somehow Watford hit the same post on successive shots in the same sequence, so hopefully the football gods are taking care of Palace today.

I’m sitting in the lower level right on that end. It was crazy. Palace Goal was away from me so it was a bit of a mystery until replay.

Salah with a well earned penalty, dribbling around Gross in the box and then getting clipped from behind.

And he converts!

Salah scores from the spot after some Gross misconduct.
+1.

Interesting wrinkle from Klopp - Salah is dropping very deep to collect the ball and play through the middle. That’s usually Firmino it sometimes Shaqiri. The advantage of Salah in that role is his close control allows him to slalom through the midfield.

And Fabinho with the crucial block.

That was a strange goal. Hope you’re having a good time. I think I know where you’re sitting. Is it the Arthur Wait adjacent to where the Ultras are? I usually end up in that area (all three times I’ve been haha).

Hope to have another Palace fan here...it’s lonely :)

Aw fuck...goal Watford.

Brighton wins the Best Names team this season right?

Button, Propper, Bong, Dunk, Gross, March

And that’s just their starting 11 today

That's a big result for Liverpool. Tricky test at Brighton, who are 'decent' at home. Back to winning ways, and a good clean sheet.

Brighton gave about as much as they could today. I’d like to see LFC take the league so I can live with the result.

Too bad about the loss. I was in section F( almost directly behind the left goal post looking at the field 22 rows up). The family that gave us the tickets has had them for almost 30 years or something. Guy I was sitting next to has been a fan for 63 years.

7 for Watford couldn’t finish but that dude can really run.

I had fun going for Palace. Even bought an ugly sweater at the club shop.

Neither of these teams can shut things down in midfield. Should be a fun game.

Nobody on United is marking Trippier when he goes forward. Eventually either Trippier is going to deliver a good ball into the box or Martial is going to score counterattacking in behind him.

A great ball by Pogba. That ball's been on a few times. Rashford still had plenty to do. A top finish. Keeper had nae chance. This is a huge 45 mins for Spurs coming up.

The story of the game is that Spurs are committing their fullbacks forward while United aren't marking them and also aren't committing their fullbacks forward. That means Spurs are better in long spells of possession, because in attack their fullbacks create overloads, while in defense once the fullbacks get back, United don't have the numbers. But it means United have been very dangerous in transition catching the fullbacks out.

The other factor here is that the Spurs midfield doesn't have the athleticism and defensive instincts to cover for the fullbacks and cut out those transitions. They really miss Dier's ball recovery in a game like this.

This United defense is there for the taking. I'd be pretty surprised if this ends at 1-0.
