The TrevorEnding Story: needs shoulder surgery, out for the year (4/9 update)

See, I completely disagree here. While this could be considered “flukey” it also could be that his body simply couldn’t take the trauma, yet someone who is 10 years younger might have avoided the same injury. It doesn’t make him a bad person or a terrible player, but at some point we have to...

The TrevorEnding Story: needs shoulder surgery, out for the year (4/9 update)

Well, true, but I think there was lots of consternation about Story when signed. Not so with Strider. what do u mean by my writing style? Mostly its errors and auto-correct for using my phone for posting!

The TrevorEnding Story: needs shoulder surgery, out for the year (4/9 update)

huh? Not comparable. Sorry if my wording made it seem like they were connected. Wasn’t linking the two. Story was had at a discount and bloom pounced because they were never signing Xander. Story was a second tier SS who hit overpaid by bloom. On top of that, he’s been injured for most of his...

The TrevorEnding Story: needs shoulder surgery, out for the year (4/9 update)

this is the play. If you want to keep D as a priority then you move RAF to SS and O’Neill to CF

The Frailty of the Modern Pitcher

This is crazy. Is the new market efficiency a group of knuckleballers?

The TrevorEnding Story: needs shoulder surgery, out for the year (4/9 update)

Sadly, this Story signing was bad from the minute the ink was dry. We will carry on, but super disappointing. I just saw Strider is getting an MRI… MLB is really having a tough time with all these injuries.

The TrevorEnding Story: needs shoulder surgery, out for the year (4/9 update)

Only pointing out that the guy cannot stay healthy and banking on him being healthy is foolish thinking. At what point do “freak” or “injuries beyond his control” become the norm and we accept that? …and I never said people were stupid… I love the optimism… but at some point you have to look at...

2024 Lineup (What we actually have - no trade speculation.)

Putting Duran in this group is silly. He may not be a “star” at the end of the day, but he’s clearly a MLB caliber hitter.

The TrevorEnding Story: needs shoulder surgery, out for the year (4/9 update)

Well, the good news is that he is “not injury-prone” like I keep reading here. Just freak injuries for him. Right? jeez. What a blow. Middle infield is going to go from a defensive strength to a question mark. Probably too soon for Mayer, though

    2004 WS Celebration

I’ll be there and driving down from Burlington VT as well (daughter goes to UVM) Bought tix a few weeks ago after seeing the 2004 team was going to be there, plus the Wakefield memorial. Looking forward to it!!

Agents of KAOS: Rafaela, Duran, and O'Neill

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought Duran should have tried to score. He was so far down the line. In fact, given the disengagement rules, I’m really surprised there hasn’t been more attempts to steal home.

    2024 Red Sox Spring Training

Looks like Duran left the game today with a potential left foot injury. Same foot he had offseason surgery on ..

Nick Pivetta - Bad, Average, or Pretty, Pretty, Pretty Good?

I like Pivetta, warts and all, just found it interesting that given the current pitching climate there are now calls for an extension.

Nick Pivetta - Bad, Average, or Pretty, Pretty, Pretty Good?

Bumping this thread because I find it very interesting how much of SoSH were down on Pivetta last year at this time- going so far as to call him flat-out a “well below average pitcher” - and now we have many calls for the Sox to extend him. I’ve been a supporter of Pivetta, and he may be a...

Red Sox to be 1st MLB featured on Netflix series

From a business perspective this is genius. What better way to improve the awareness of the "Red Sox" brand internationally and try to move into the NYY and LAD realm across the globe? Get people across Europe to wear Sox caps? Seems less about baseball and more about selling merchandise, but...

    red sox preview/predictions

Yes sigs show on iOS when you look horizontally. I’m nit as optimistic either. Sadly, we are in for another year of “hoping everyone stays healthy” and best-case scenarios for each player in order to be competitive. probably 78-80 wins.

    Moves I'd Make

agree and my thought about Casas trade would be impact for impact. I was looking at a Bieber+ extension scenario… but I just feel like we cannot go for award with a team built of DH types playing the field. What pitcher wants to throw in front of that? I love Raffi but I really wish we hadn’t...

    Offseason rumors

Right. I get those two locations but I don’t see Boston below other destinations. And it’s always been like that for LA and NY. …and I think some players prefer the crazy atmosphere. I mean Philly signed a ton of free agents over the last 3 years. Philly!!!?? What the hell does Philly have...

    Moves I'd Make

I don’t really think it’s needed. I think between Whitlock and Houck we have our closer in-house.

    Offseason rumors

I’ve read a lot about Boston not being a top free agent destination… I dunno… I get the logic that we don’t have weather and with social/internet the $$$ endorsements are not tied to key coastal cities like in years past, but I find it hard to believe that Boston isn’t a viable destination for...
