Game 2 of the WS moved to 7PM (weather concerns)

7pm start times would be so nice if they were the norm, wouldn't they?

2016 MLB WS Cubs Vs Indians

I picked Cleveland in 6 and so far, so good.

Loveable Losers v. Mary Harts - NLCS

What a great teammate. I miss being able to watch him roll his eyes and make a sour face when his teammates didn't make a play, too. Fun times.

Loveable Losers v. Mary Harts - NLCS

I've been rooting against the Cubs all season...can't stand that they were anointed as the champs months ago, and I'm tired of hearing all the time "well, you're a Red Sox fan so you must be rooting for the Cubs, right?" I can't stand their fans and the icing on the cake is Joe "I Invented...

    The off-season

Agreed. And maybe I'm being too simplistic about this, but with this offense, even accounting for a dip in numbers as they look to replace Papi's production, they should be able to score more than enough runs to overcome not having that lights-out #1 starter. Price and Porcello should be enough...

MLB investigating Padres Over Pomeranz Trade

I think so. It gave the young guys a taste of postseason baseball and can't do anything but help them out going forward.

John Farrell & Dave Dombrowski Press Conference (10/11/16)

Duly noted to both of your comments. It was just a theory on my part. :)

John Farrell & Dave Dombrowski Press Conference (10/11/16)

The only way I can see it making sense is that if the team regresses next year, Farrell will take the heat instead of DD, and they can fire Farrell. If DD canned Farrell now and put his own guy in and the team still regressed, then the heat is on DD (i.e. "this new manager is YOUR guy, why isn't...

    The off-season

I'm firmly in the "keep JBJ" camp as well. I think most teams would love to have a guy who plays great D in CF and hits ~.270 w/20+ HR and 75+ RBI in the bottom 3rd of the order. He's a good character guy, too (as all of the young kids seem to be) and as I always ask when people suggest trading...

    The off-season

Totally agree 100% And as someone mentioned above, he and his wife also had a baby in the middle of the season, so I can imagine that tired him out quite a bit (as a father of 4 myself, I'm certain of it! :) )

    ALDS: Indians vs Red Sox

Same here, something about the Cubs and their fans has always rubbed me the wrong way, but with Joe Maddon at the helm, they REALLY irk me. I'm actively rooting for them to lose. I hate the Jays, too, so I've got to go for either Cleveland (whoulda thunk?) or LA/DC Big time. Yes, the players...

MLB investigating Padres Over Pomeranz Trade

:agree: Yup. I'd throw Pedroia and Ortiz in, too...their hitting was brutal for the most part.

    ALDS: Indians vs Red Sox

My thoughts exactly. Really, I'm mainly just bummed about a) having to wait ~6 months to watch meaningful Sox games again, and b) never seeing Papi in a game again. This team wasn't ready this year, but they're close and they're VERY talented. In the long run, this will probably help the young...

MLB investigating Padres Over Pomeranz Trade

Apart from giving up that bomb to Coco, Pomeranz actually pitched quite well in relief in the ALDS, which is more than can be said for Porcello or Price.

    ALDS: Indians vs Red Sox

I'm hoping the rained out day yesterday is going to give the Sox an extra day to rest and get their heads together so they can come out strong today...and that it's not simply prolonging the inevitable. I was bummed but upbeat after game 1, but after game 2 I was not feeling good about this team...

    ALDS: Indians vs Red Sox

Yeah, I'm not gonna crush Benintendi for that brain fart...it was his 1st playoff game and 3 months ago he was in Portland playing AA ball. If you're gonna kill anyone for stinking it up in their first playoff game, JBJ and Mookie are the ones. And even worse, Xander, who has been here before...

    ALDS: Indians vs Red Sox

What was up with that check swing call the home plate ump made on Pedroia (I think?) in the 9th? He was overly emphatic with it and when he went down to the 1st base ump after, he just kind of shrugged. That was a weird one for me.

    ALDS: Indians vs Red Sox

100% agree with your post. At this point, especially with Xander, he should almost keep the bat on his shoulder until he gets something down the middle, because the book is out on him and they're going to just keep throwing junk down and away until he stops flailing away at it. Another thing I...

    ALDS: Indians vs Red Sox

Yup. Even Pedroia! That really shocked me, but I'm not going to take anything away from Dustin because he's a gamer and he battled to the bitter end in that final at-bat last night.

    ALDS: Indians vs Red Sox

Totally agree...Miller was getting calls 6+ inches off the plate and some of the other calls throughout...woof. Also, how many questionable check swing calls from the base umps? Although to be fair, with the way the Sox were flailing away all night, I've never seen so many goddamn strikes called...
