    The Nation's Tears: Volume II

Wright's comment about "superstar call" did get me thinking: Why wouldn't star football players get the benefit of close calls the way star basketball or baseball players are known (or thought) to do? The baseball player analogy made me think about pitchers who pound the strike zone, which...

TB Suspension: Cheater free to play again

There was a series of articles in the NYT a few months ago on inequities in arbitration. And there were bills introduced in the Senate to curtail arbitration clauses (here's one). So I think it's fair to say that chipping away at arbitration is a real thing.

TB Suspension: Cheater free to play again

And I'm not actually talking about anything from Wells, but the correspondence from the NFL lawyers to Wells. Which, since this was supposed to be an independent investigations, should just be about softball game scheduling, Girl Scout cookie sales, and the like. As far as a large block of...

TB Suspension: Cheater free to play again

If the owners were upset at the process, one simple thing to do would be to ask to see the correspondence between the League and Wells. There was supposed to be an independent investigation. Lying to an owner should be upsetting.
