April 14 Regular Season Finale v Bullets: Mike Gorman Sendoff night

Thanks. I dropped YouTube TV and will pick it up for the playoffs. I was afraid I wouldn't hear him call a game all season. Grande is great, but a different vibe.

Why isn't Gorman broadcasting the first round games?

Tatum falls just short of 2,000 points on the season.

    2023-2024 General NBA Season Thread

Why have the Kings fallen off the cliff? I thought Fox and Sabonis were a dynamic duo.

    Wembanyamarama

I know MVP is nebulous, but if you had a draft of every NBA player, I'd have him as pick 2 behind Jokic. I don't think that makes him 2nd in the MVP race, however. Now, for return on investment , he's clearly the most valuable, thanks to his rookie contract.

April 12 Celtics Fan Appreciation Day v Hornets, aka Granite homecoming

Poor Hauser has put up 6 threes and hasn't made one. 3-point shooting is SO streaky. And, now look, he made one!

    2024 Celtic Playoff Prediction Poll

I love Tatum, on the level of Pierce and Nomar. Barring injury, if they don't make it to the Finals with this roster, I'd think Tatum would no longer be untouchable. But, like Pierce, maybe they stick with him and get the exact right pieces around him. I'm hoping this year's roster is it...

4/11 - Who will the Knicks play?

Did the starters take the 2nd quarter off, too, knowing they'd sit the second half? Games that don't matter suck. Pre-season games are more important.

4/11 - Who will the Knicks play?

Tatum is 31 points away from 2,000. It'd be his third-straight year reaching 2,000. I wonder if he plays enough minutes over the next three days to accomplish the feat.

Just What is Apex Mountain: Rewatchables discussion thread

I had never seen "Saturday Night Fever" from start to finish. I knew the famous opening and dance scenes, I remember clips from cable, but never sat through the movie. A few weeks ago, I listened to the Rewachables Podcast for it on the train. About a week after that, my wife was watching it...

It seems highly unlikely she'll do it. Though there's a kind of precedent for it, as Wilt went to the Globetrotters.

    Sunday: Portland. Maine?

Red Claws was a great name. The Boston Celtics buy the team and change the name to Celtics and the only other branding change was to turn the Lobster green so it looks like an insect. Couldn't they kept the Lobster red? Or, even, keep the nickname? The Sea Dogs stayed the Sea Dogs after...

    First time visit to Fenway

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Gate D is the entry closest to home plate. The walk up to the seats and having the field and Green Monster revealed through the narrow view between the seats and upper deck is awe-inspiring as it grows into focus. It's much cooler than Gate B, where you...

    2023-24 Celtics

It looks like everybody is bad at the end of games. No one is at .500, Jeff Green at the top of list is 1-8 for three. That makes sense as it's the hardest shooting situation in basketball.

    2023-24 Celtics

Are there reasons Pierce was so much better than Tatum at the end of the game? Like, I know the margins between success and failure and miniscule. Tatum's a great and smart player, he's bound to improve...but, it hasn't happened, yet. Some of it's luck, but some has to be scheme and strategy.
