    Tatum or Ant?

Yeah I mean that's exactly how I read your post anyway, but appreciate the disclaimer. One thing that really gets to me is when people take the stance about their player/team "___ player or ___ team isn't good or mentally tough enough to win." Especially prematurely. It's the easiest stance to...

    Tatum or Ant?

I've never (intentionally) bookmarked a post in my 20ish years on this site. Until now. This is probably the most succinct take on all this, and I plan on revisiting it often and sending it to people as necessary should things get dire the next couple months. That said, here's to hoping for a 16...

    Tatum or Ant?

But Tony, Tatum hasn't won the title yet... You're right Mike!

    Tatum or Ant?

Doesn't some of this have to do with where a respective team is at as well? The Celtics, right now, would want Tatum over Ant. And Id argue the TWolves are close enough that they'd also want Tatum over Ant. I mean quite frankly IMO any team should take Tatum over him, but I can see an argument...

Giving up on being an athlete: the pickleball thread

Yeah i think if I were playing more than once every couple weeks (platform tennis takes priority from oct til now) and had better rhythm on my drop those numbers would look different. But for now I trust my drive enough that it has a better chance of producing a much easier next ball to drop on...

Giving up on being an athlete: the pickleball thread

First off I appreciate the nod...but my dupr is like a 4.7 though so IANAPPB. When it comes to my first shot after me/my partner serve my logic tree is pretty much: Bad/shallow return: 90% 3rd shot drop, 10% drive at/pass attempt (mainly to keep them on their toes) Good/Deep return: 30% 3rd shot...

I think you are thinking of the same film? It's interesting because I completely agree that it's pretty standard...but at same time Im glad they did it because I dont think I wouldve bothered to watch (not sure id even heard of it) without knowing I could listen the pod after.

And they carried that momentum right into the playoffs taking 3 of 4 from the panthers...too soon? Kidding aside I completely agree that there really is nothing predictive, get in, be as healthy as possible and go from there.

    Following Former Red Sox 2024...

100% for me. I know it's a somewhat simplistic way of looking at it but he was drafted 40th in the 2011 first round, and finished (as of now, some are still active of course) with the 12th most WAR of all first & second rounders rounders. Hell, it looks like about half the players drafted in the...

Al Horford - the Celtics' Resurrected Saviour of the Season

He will definitely show his age at points IMO, just a matter of the ratio of extra gear vs. showing age. Looking at last year's gamelog, he played about 32.5 mpg in the first round. I know g1 was a blowout, but even in the other wins that looked pretty comfortable final score wise I recall them...

So? Greg Weissert is on pace for 81 IP with ZERO runs allowed. Mookie can't do that ;) Kidding aside how has he looked in the infield so far? Havent been able to watch him at all, his counting stats look good...solid range still I assume?

    Larry Lucchino dead at 78

View: https://twitter.com/hbarndollar/status/1775168518339559494?s=20 "I was 10 years old when I wrote to Larry Lucchino basically telling him he was the worst person on Earth for trading Nomar. He actually wrote me back a personalized, hand-signed letter. It hung framed on my bedroom wall for...

Just What is Apex Mountain: Rewatchables discussion thread

I have a weird relationship with MBTS. It came out right after one of my best friends died of liver failure at 35. After two nights of feeling all sorts of sad feelings alone I decided I’d really lean into it and go see the movie, alone. Well walking into the liberty tree mall in Danvers I ran...

Jayson Tatum's Rise to the Top

Thanks for the context. I guess I was wondering when comparing Tatum to top guys that havent won titles if he gets punished in similar ways to morons who would compare Brady to Montana with the whole "But Montana was undefeated in superbowls!" Aka Tatum has gotten way closer than guys like SGA...
