    I think the balloon was burst with the FA cup loss to United , and they have got progressively worse ever since. It’s not like they have been bad - but the offence has completely dried up - choking? Pressure? Bad luck ? All probably apply.

    Klopp will probably wait until 60’ but I’d have Jota and Szoboszlai at the half . Nunez has contributed very little and Jones next to nothing.

    Pool appear to have a shape problem - it’s ridiculously easy for Palace down the left side - one goal already and several other opportunities.

    I actually think this game encapsulates their whole season … domination, but lacking ruthlessness plus slightly flaky at the back. Of all their injuries I’ve always thought Jota’s was the most damaging. That may have been the bridge too far.

    I thought it was a clean tackle at first but that last replay from behind showed he didn’t get the ball - so, agreed it should have been a PEN - the announcer suggested it wasn’t given as the contact was after the Brentford player got the shot off.

    Palace gave it a go but essentially lost when they didn’t capitalize on several excellent chances on the break in the first half. Watching City games and hoping for a result is , shall we say an extraordinarily futile experience. The sense of inevitability is overwhelming.
