The Future of the PGA Tour and Majors - who you got?

Golf has been the only sport during COVID that I think the viewing product has gotten substantially better -- at least for me. In large part I think that's due to star power on tour right now. It seems to be the best cast and best position sport has been in since mid to late 90's. If I had...

tOSU - We are all out of body parts with which to slap Michigan in the face

Haven't been around here in quite some time...but yes I like it so much I did undergrad and law school there. And moved back about 5 years ago.

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

He's keeping Larry Johnson Sr, which I think is fine and probably beneficial to him. But let's be honest. He is a stopgap who will be gone in 3-4 years.

    Welcome home, Urban Meyer!

It definitely takes a certain style of coach to be able to handle Meyer. I'm sure Mattison had that ability, but there were a couple of guys seemingly always doing the dirty work and he wasn't one of them. I sort of selfishly hope we can get some of those guys to Columbus, although I'll...

    Welcome home, Urban Meyer!

I don't want to get pulled into a pissing match, but if you think Greg Mattison was his top recruiter then you haven't been following college football for very long. The staff is mostly complete. Including essential pulls of Brian Voltolini and Mark Pantoni. Those are game changers in the...

    Welcome home, Urban Meyer!

That Florida booster must be very out of touch to what went down there. Bob Stoops and Billy Gonzalez have more to do with him leaving than some co-eds.

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

I really want to avoid repeatedly posting in this thread as I just don't have the patience or willingness to play the my outrage is worse than your outrage game. But do want to provide a little summation of my thoughts on the topic. What happened was horrific. It was terrible and...

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

This is insanely unfair to the students/players/everyone. Some of those players were in Kindergarden the last time Jerry Sandusky was on staff. It also kind of messes with their chances to earn a livelihood a bit.

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

He didn't work there for the past 11 years and was 30 year pillar of the community. My honest assumption is they thought something like this: "Jerry is a weirdo, but the less I know the better." I don't remember the Red Sox situation with the clubhouse attendant very well, but that's got to...

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

I'm uncomfortable that this has shifted from a Jerry Sandusky story to a story about Joe Paterno and Penn State football. This is not a college football story.

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

I've read it and like I think I said on page 1 of this thread, was aware of the investigation for sometime. That doesn't stop me from being increasingly uncomfortable with the focus and fervor of the story. I can empathize with all parties involved with the exception of Sandusky.

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

What if he is somehow found innocent? is that even possible?

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

Pretty sure McQueary was born and raised in State College.

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

I've mostly tried to stay out of this. And while I have a strong contempt for Penn State's fan base, I absolutely hate how this has become a Joe Paterno and Penn State Story.

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

No, at least not in this situation. It is a horrific story, but it has nothing to do with NCAA rules or compliance or any of that fun stuff. And for the record there was never any allegation of pay for play at Ohio State under Tressel.

Penn State AD and Sandusky Charged

The odd thing is I'm not sure how well known this story was. It seems to have blown up today, but I distinctly remember hearing about it 6 months ago. I'm trying to figure out if that was just a rumor or if this was somewhat well known behavior.

    Conference Realignment Thread

if the Big Ten has to expand, and I think they've learned their lesson and will sit back and work quietly, then I think Maryland is #3 on the list, with 1 and 2 being Texas and ND which have unique circumstances. The major thing during this is there isn't going to be any loyalty to anyone else...

    Conference Realignment Thread

My thought would be that the ACC is being proactive cause they are about to get raided as well. If the SEC and Big Ten are going to 16 too, and a Oklahoma jump to the Pac 12 will facilitate that, then they aren't going to C-USA to grab their new members. The ACC move would allow them to stay...

Wouldn't get my hopes up for this quite yet.
