And that’s what I’m missing. I thought it was 0/1/2/3. Thanks!

With a game left, so they can still get to 91.

    2023-24 NHL Game Thread

I don’t understand. If the Penguins win in regulation, don’t they tie on points and win on Regulation Wins?

    The Homefield disadvantage

August 11-13, beat the Tigers 2 out of 3.

    Wembanyamarama

Exactly the same here. Is there any way for defenses to guard his three pointers?

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

$16M, but yes. The advisors let up when they should not have.

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

They did ask. It’s in the affidavit. Ippei said it was in a non interest bearing account, and Ohtani wanted it private.

    2024 Rotation and Bullpen

Only -0.2 per Fangraphs! Statcast at a high level - his 4 seamer velocity is down from 95.0 mph (and 46.4% of the time) in 2023 to 93.1 mph (15.5%) this year. The slider & sweeper have similar speeds to last year (which means less separation).

There's probably long-established methods for Spanish speaking players, because there are so many more of them. You're probably also more likely to have agents on staff who speak Spanish.

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

Yes. Ohtani's current stance is 100% consistent - that doesn't necessarily make it true. But Ippei told Ohtani's team and ESPN that Ohtani was helping him out, then said actually Ippei stole from Ohtani, then made an announcement in the Dodgers clubhouse, which is when Ohtani found out what...

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

Ohtani didn't change his story, Ippei did. Ippei was speaking for Ohtani the whole time.

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

His W-2 income (which appears to be the only thing that went to this account) plus a record of where he played each game (which can be ascertained from Baseball Reference) would be the only thing necessary for this. There's also a pretty limited breadth of expenses you can deduct nowadays, so...

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

Well, hold on. There's no reason to think he didn't provide a W-2 to his accountant. He wasn't claiming gambling losses or anything - why would his tax return be wrong?

Same reason as everything else. Because Ippei "translated" it to them.

They apparently never had access to that account, so didn't know the money was missing?

Shohei Ohtani’s attorneys accuse interpreter of ‘massive theft’ tied to alleged gambling

I think it's more like $40M pre-tax. Call it $20M after taxes - so Ippei stole most of the money Shohei earned from the Angels.

I have to say, the cell phone being provided to the Feds and them conclusively saying there's no evidence against him is pretty good.
