40 To 60 - Roster moves that will facilitate the other shoe to drop

Turner has been mentioned in a few places, and would make some sense as a short-term low-key option.

    Story/Yoshida/FA Pickups vs Campbell/Anthony/Mayer

None of the above. Sorry, but this is is pretty dumb poll, most of the options offered will work their way out in spring training and beyond. I hope Campbell, Anthony, Mayer arrive soon, but as of today who knows exactly? If we open with Wong, Casas, Grissom, Story, Devers, Duran, Rafaela...

    SoSH Temperature Check: Bregman

In an ideal world, the Astros offer $200m, with sufficient deferred money that current value is $155m or less. Everyone saves face.

Much like Newman, the Sox are not “Ready to deliver”– The 2025 Offseason News (& rumors?) Thread

Agreed, though maybe I'm an anomaly in that last year I absolutely wanted Montgomery, wheras this I absolutely don't want Bregman.

The Conductor: who should Breslow haul to Boston this winter?

For example, as has been stated elsewhere, even if Bregman may be an upgrade over Campbell/Mayer/Grissom/Cassas over the next year or so, over a six-year deal there's little doubt that he would not, and at a much greater financial cost.

    +1, tiresome in the extreme.

Slow Train Coming. Please make it stop.

    Milton DFAs The Trop

I generally spend spring training in Clearwater, so see plenty of Phillies and some Blue Jays in Dunedin, plus Frort Myers of course, but have never been able to bring myself to get over to Tampa for the Yanks.

Red Sox front office re-org/restructure/deck chair rearrangement

It's multisport multinational issue, e.g. almost universal in English soccer. And these guys mostly pay major money for people to manage their media profile, mindboggling.

If the RS sign Montgomery are you satisfied with the off-season?

I don't suppose it says much that we don't already know, but this is pretty good summary of Montgomery's market; mostly the curse of being reliably good but not potentially great.

    Offseason rumors

I like Montgomery, I very much hope that we get him, but E-Rod has been a reliable starter for the past 10 years, their careers are fairly comparable, even over the last three years, they are the same age: to me if ER is worth 4/80 today, in a Boras-free world JM is maybe worth a little more...

    Offseason rumors

I don't disagree, but if we just needed an innings eater shouldn't be have just gone for someone like E-Rod at a fraction of the cost, and likely comparable value?

RedSox and Yankees will be in London next year on June 29-30.

Wondering whether there's any way I can get away with wearing my Y*nkees Suck t-shirt!

I found clicking on the "Buy Tickets" link in the mail I got at 5:11am this morning worked best. Still slow, but I got there.

RedSox and Yankees will be in London next year on June 29-30.

As a native Brit who first came to Boston in the early eighties and settled there in the summer of '86, I'm pretty excited about this. I expect London Stadium will make a terrible baseball venue, and the prices are outrageous (though apparently pretty much in line with what will be charged for...
